- WEEK 28 Monday, March 27th 2023 Unit 17: What would you like to eat? Lesson 1 (4- 6) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about what someone would like to eat or drink. - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Read and fill the gapped paragraph with the words provided. - Sing the song healthy eating and drinking. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: The song lyrics 2. Skills. - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Educate Ss how to keep healthy - Positive about eating habits - Students know how to learn English in right way. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work / groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about what someone would like to eat or drink. B. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... C. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. D. Procedures. I. Warm up: Answer - What would you like to eat/drink? + I’d like . ., please II. New lesson: 1. Listen and tick - Have sts to look at 4 groups of pictures with food and drink - Elicit the names of food and drink - Give instruction. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct pictures - Ask sts to compare the answers with theỉ partners. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers.
- - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. *Key: 1. b 2. a 3. b 4. c 2. Read and complete: - Tell sts that they are going to complete the pasage with the 5 words given. - Give sts few seconds to read the pasage in silence. - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary - Get sts to work in pairs. - Get sts to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud the passage * Key: 1. lunch 2. sandwich 3. food 4. healthy 5. eat - Have sts read aloud the passage. 3. Let’s sing: - Show the song “Healthy eating and drinking” - Have sts look at the pictures and give some ideas - Read the lyrics - Check comprehension - Play the recording the song all the way through - Have sts repeat each line of the lyrics a few times - Have sts sing along - Have sts practice singing and acting in groups - Call some groups sing aloud and do actions III. Wrap-up: - Have sts retell what they would like - Have ss practice speaking at home. Unit 17: What would you like to eat? Lesson 2 (1- 3) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about quantity of food and drink. - Sentence Patterns: How many / much ___ do you eat / drink every day? − I eat / drink. - Vocabulary: bananas, three bananas / rice, four bowls / sausages, two sausages / water, three bottles 2. Skills. - Listening, writing and reading. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Educate Ss how to keep healthy
- - Positive about recipes and eating habits - Know how to learn English in right way. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about quantity of food and drink. B. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... C. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. D. Procedures. I. Warm – up: Listen to the song “Healthy eating and drinking” II. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat: - Introduce the dialogue. - The class listen . Look at the pictures in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions . - Play the recording - Sts Listen follow in their book. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Read in group/ pair: One repeats Mai’s part, the other repeats Linda’s part and Tony’s part. - Elicit the model sentences: How many apples do you eat every day? I eat two. 2. Point and say - Teach vocabulary: sausage - Elicits the structure - Ss give new sentence: How much/ many .... do you eat/drink every day? I eat/ drink..... - Look and find out the model sentences. - Point the pictures & practise asking & answering questions given - Model sentence. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary - 2 - 3 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. - The rest of the class observe and give comments. 3. Let’s Talk
- - Give tasks. - Have sts ask and answer questions about your daily food and drinks How much/ many .... do you eat/drink every day? I eat/ drink..... - Ss work in pairs to ask and answer about themselves. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Correct their pronunciation and mistake - 6-7 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. III. Wrap-up: - Practice asking and answering about price. - Review words and structure. Wednesday, March 29th 2023 Unit 17: What would you like to eat? Lesson 2 (4 - 6) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about quantity of food and drink. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct answers. - Read and complete the gapped conversation, using the words provided. - Play the game: Labelling foods and drinks. - Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Listening, writing and reading. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Educate Ss how to keep healthy - Positive about recipes and eating habits - Students know how to learn English in right way. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about quantity of food and drink. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge:
- - Give intonation sentences correctly. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped answers. Then say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant : Healthy food and drink. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Develop listening and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to stay healthy. - Have good eating habits. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. B. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... - 2. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences: - Have pupils read the questions and answers given - Tell sts that they are going to the recording and circle the words to complete the answers - Play CD all the way through for them to listen - Play again for them to circle the words - Have sts swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Then ask the class to say the sentences aloud - Give feedback *Key: 1. a 2. b 3. a 4. a 3. Let’s chant - Show the chant “Healthy food and drink” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What food/ drink? How much/ many .?) - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation III. Wrap-up - Ask sts make out some more sentences and read with the right intonation - Practice chanting.
