  1. WEEK 7 UNIT 5: WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS WEEKEND? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: Monday, October 17th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Use the words and phrases related to the topic Future activities, ask and answer questions about where someone will be - Sentence Patterns: Where will you be this weekend? – I think I’ll be ______. - Vocabulary: in the countryside, on the beach, at school, by the sea 2. Skills - Develop Ss’ speaking, listening and reading skills 3. Attitude - To help Ss loving some activities at the weekend. 4. Competences - Co-operation love schools about Future activities. - Self-study ability, ability to operate, live responsibly. - Using language to talk about activities at the weekend. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - Where will you be .? + I think I’ll be .. - Vocabulary: (review) C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Students’ book (page 30) - Situational pictures and activity pictures on page 30 - Pictures of daily activities - Laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm – up: Network zoo Places to go at park the weekend hometown beach playground Activity 2. Look, listen and repeat Have pupils look at the dialogue on the screen - Ask pupils the names of the characters and what they are doing -Tell them that they are going to hear Mai, Tony and Phong are talking about where they will go this weekend - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books.
  2. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. Activity 3. Point and say - Play the CD twice for sts listen and repeat - Explain the pattern: Where will you be this weekend? I think I’ll be - Run through the key words/ phrases - Point at each picture and ask the question base on the model - Have sts practice asking and answering in pairs - Monitor the activity and help sts if they need - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance - Give feedback - Explain the use of prepositions of places: in the countryside/village ; on the beach; at school; by the sea Activity 4. Let’s talk - Tell class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about where someone will be. - Get sts to work in pairs (or go around) to ask each other about where someone will be in 5 mins - remind them to use the questions and answers in their books - Monitor and help sts - Call some groups act out their work - Give feedback Activity 5: Wrap up - Have sts retell the content of the lesson. - Do ex B1 in workbook UNIT 5: WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS WEEKEND? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: Thursday, October 20th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Use the words and phrases related to the topic Future activities, ask and answer questions about where someone will be - Listen and tick the pictures. - Read and match the questions with the answers. - Sing the song Where will you be? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: The song lyrics 2. Listen and tick - Have sts to look 3 pictures in each line - Elicit the places and activities in each picture - Give instruction. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct pictures - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. * Key: 1.c 2.a 3. b Activity 2. Read and match - Tell sts that they are going to read questions and answers in two columns given - Give sts 3 mins to read them. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary - Get sts to work in pairs. - Get sts to swap and check their answers. - Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud their answer * Key: 1. c 2. d 3. a 4. b - Call 4 pairs read aloud the questions and answers in pairs Activity 3. Let’s sing - Show the song “Where will you be?” - Have sts look at the pictures and give some ideas ; - Read the lyrics. - Check comprehension - Play the recording the song all the way through. - Have sts repeat each line of the lyrics a few times. - Have sts sing along. - Have sts practice singing and acting in groups - Call some groups sing aloud and do actions Activity 4. Knowledge - Use the words and phrases related to the topic Future activities, ask and answer questions about what someone will be. - Listen and number the pictures. - Write about themselves, using the guiding questions. - Play the game Questions and answers. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Develop Ss’ speaking, writing and reading skills 3. Attitude - To help Ss loving some activities at the weekend. 4. Competences - Co-operation love schools about Future activities. - Self-study ability, ability to operate, live responsibly. - Using language to talk about activities at the weekend. B. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Students’ book (page 33) - Situational pictures and activity pictures on page 33 - pictures of addresses - Laptop, TV C. Write about your last holidays - Have pupils look at 2 questions given - Ask pupils what they do this part - Tell them that they are going to write the answer base on the questions about where they will be and what they wil do - Call on a pupil to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals. - Have pupils discuss their answers in pairs for correction. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board. - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. - Have the class chorally read each line. * Suggested answer: 1. I will be at home. 2. I will read book, watch TV, help my mum and play games. Activity 3. Project - Ask ss to work in group to discuss what presents to give a cclassmate for his/ her birthday. - Elicit an idea for model. - Go around and check their work - Comment Activity 4.
