  1. WEEK 6 UNIT 5: WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS WEEKEND? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: From Monday to Tuesday (25th- 26h of October) A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Use the words and phrases related to the topic Future activities, ask and answer questions about where someone will be - Sentence Patterns: Where will you be this weekend? – I think I’ll be ______. - Vocabulary: in the countryside, on the beach, at school, by the sea 2. Skills: - Develop Ss’ speaking, listening and reading skills 3. Attitude: - To help Ss loving some activities at the weekend. 4. Competences: - Co-operation love schools about Future activities. - Self-study ability, ability to operate, live responsibly. - Using language to talk about activities at the weekend. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - Where will you be .? + I think I’ll be .. - Vocabulary: (review) C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Students’ book (page 30) - Situational pictures and activity pictures on page 30 - Pictures of daily activities - Laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm – up: Network zoo Places to go at park the weekend hometown beach playground Activity 2. Look, listen and repeat Have pupils look at the dialogue on the screen - Ask pupils the names of the characters and what they are doing -Tell them that they are going to hear Mai, Tony and Phong are talking about where they will go this weekend - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books.
  2. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. Activity 3. Point and say - Play the CD twice for sts listen and repeat - Explain the pattern: Where will you be this weekend? I think I’ll be - Run through the key words/ phrases - Point at each picture and ask the question base on the model - Have sts practice asking and answering in pairs - Monitor the activity and help sts if they need - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance - Give feedback - Explain the use of prepositions of places: in the countryside/village ; on the beach; at school; by the sea Activity 4. Let’s talk - Tell class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about where someone will be. - Get sts to work in pairs (or go around) to ask each other about where someone will be in 5 mins - remind them to use the questions and answers in their books - Monitor and help sts - Call some groups act out their work - Give feedback Activity 5: Wrap up - Have sts retell the content of the lesson. - Do ex B1 in workbook UNIT 5: WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS WEEKEND? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday to Wednesday (26th - 27th of October) A. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge - Pupils can ask and answer questions about what the other speaker will do at Ha Long Bay. - Sentence Patterns: What will you do at Ha Long Bay? I think I’ll . / I don’t know. Look, listen and repeat - Set the scene: - Elicit the context of the picture - Have sts look at the pictures and guess what the story is about - Check comprehension by pointing at each picture to elicit their answers for: + Who are they? + Where are they? + What are they doing? - Play CD for sts listen and follow in their books - Play again – sts repeat - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. => Elicit the model sentences: Nam: What will you do? Point and say - Have pupils look at pictures about activities. - Run through the phrase words - Use flashcards to teach the question and answer in the speech bubbles. Activity 6. Wrap up - Have sts retell the content of the lesson. - Do ex B1 in workbook UNIT 5: WHERE WILL YOU BE THIS WEEKEND? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday to Wednesday (19th - 20th of October) A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Pronounce the words with the stress on the first syllable: 'seaside, 'islands, 'countryside. - Listen and circle the letters showing the words filling the gapped sentences. - Say the chant Where will you be this weekend? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: - Develop Ss’ speaking and reading skills 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love their family and friends. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation love schools about Future activities.

Listen and repeat - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the words - Produce the words: ‘seaside, ‘islands, ‘countryside with the stress on the first syllable - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the stress a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to pronounce. - Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation. Then say the sentences - Have pupils read the sentences and phrases given - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 3 sentences and circle the words given to complete the sentences. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and circle the correct words. - Compare the answers with the partners. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gets the answer: - Have pupils act out the sentences in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1- b ; 2 - a ; 3 – b ; Activity 4. Let’s chant - Show the chant “Where will you be this weekend?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension + Where will he go? + What will he do? - Play the tape a few times. - have sts make stress on the whole chant - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands.
  6. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 4. Wrap -up - In this lesson, sts have learned how to make stress the words with 2, 3 syllables - Practice chanting.
