- WEEK 6 UNIT 4: DID YOU GO TO THE PARTY? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: Monday, October 10th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about whether someone did at a party. - Sentence Patterns: What did you do at the party? − We _____. - Vocabulary: had nice food and drink, played hide-and-seek, chatted with friends, watched cartoons 2. Skills: - Develop Ss’ speaking, listening and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love their family and friends. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about what someone did at a party. Look, listen and repeat - Set the scene: - Elicit the context of the picture - Have sts look at the pictures and guess what the story is about
- - Check comprehension by pointing at each picture to elicit their answers for: + What’s party? – Birthday party + What did they do? – sang, danced, ate, - Play CD for sts listen and follow in their books - Play again – sts repeat - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. => Elicit the modal sentences: Quan: What did you do? Tony: We sang and danced. Activity 3. Point and say - Have pupils look at pictures. - Run through the phrases and words - Use flashcards to teach the question and answer in the speech bubbles. Have sts repeat the phrases a few times. - Model (a) A: What did you do? B: We had nice food and drink. - Give instruction - Point to each picture and how often they do things to fill the gaps. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistake when necessary. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 4. Let’s talk - Have stst read aloud 3 questions given - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about what you and your friends did - Run through. - Give instruction. - Model: A: Did you go to the party? B: Yes, I did. A: How was it? B: It was great. A: What did you do there? B: We sang, danced and played hide and seek. - Give sts 3 mins for sts practice (about themselves) - Get sts to work in groups of three to interact. - Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class.
- - Check ss’ pronunciation. Activity 5. Wrap up - Have sts retell the content of the lesson. - Do ex B1 in workbook UNIT 4: DID YOU GO TO THE PARTY? LESSON 2 (4 - 6) Time: Thursday, October 13th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about whether someone did at a party. - Listen and circle the letters showing the words completing the sentences. - Write about themselves, using the guiding questions. - Play the game Tic-tac-toe. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Develop Ss’ listening, writing and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love their family and friends. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about what someone did at a party. LEARNING PLAN Warm up Play “Pass the ball” game What did you do at the party? I/ We Activity 1. Listen and circle a or b - Have pupils read the sentences and phrases given - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 3 dialogues and circle the words given to complete the sentences. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and circle the correct words. - Compare the answers with the partners. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gets the answer:
- - Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Answer: 1- a ; 2 - b ; 3 – b ; Activity 2. Write about you - Have pupils look at the questions given - Ask pupils what they do this part - Tell them that they are going to write the answer base on the questions about past event - Call on a pupil to write on the board and other pupils write into their books in individuals. - Have pupils discuss their answers in pairs for correction. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board. - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. - Have the class chorally read each line. * Suggested answer: 1. We were at Lan’s birthday party 2. We ate sweets, drank coke, sang and chatted with friends. 3. Yes, we did./ No, we didn’t. Activity 3. Let’s play: Tic – tac - toe - Elicit sts what they have to do? - Models for sts understand the way to play it - Ask pupils what they do this part. - Have pupils look at the uncompleted questions/ sentences given and they have to complete them - Control sts play the game in pairs - Have them read aloud - Check and give feedback: Activity 4. Wrap up Practice asking and answering the writing task UNIT 4: DID YOU GO TO THE PARTY? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: Thursday, October 13th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Pronounce the two-syllable words with the stress on the different syllable: 'party, 'Sunday, en'joyed, in'vite. - Listen and mark the word stress. Then say the words aloud. - Say the chant When was your birthday? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening and speaking skills

Listen and repeat - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the words - Produce the words: ‘always, ‘usually, ‘often, and ‘sometimes with the stress on the first syllable - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the stress a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to pronounce. - Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 3. Mark the words stress. - - Show the chant “When was your birthday?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (When? What did they do? Did they enjoy?) - Play the tape a few times. - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 4. Wrap -up - In this lesson, sts have learned how to make stress the verbs with 2 syllables - Practice chanting. UNIT 4: DID YOU GO TO THE PARTY? LESSON 3 (4 - 7) Time: Thursday, October 13th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge - Pronounce correctly the stress of the two syllable nouns - Read the paragraph and answer the questions. - Write about their birthday party, using the guiding questions. - Work in group to discuss a birthday present for a classmate. - Colour the stars showing their English competences. 2. Skills - Listening, writing, reading and speaking skills 3. Attitude/ Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love their family and friends. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to pronounce the stress of two syllable nouns and verbs through doing listening task and reading the chant. It was last Sunday. 2. Some of his classmates went to his birthday. 3. He played the guitar. 4. She played the piano. Activity 2. Write about your birthday party - Have sts read the questions given - Elicit some ideas about each question - Get some sts answer aloud - Checking understanding how to write - Have sts write in 5 mins - Remind sts how to write in correct way (capital letters, comma, full stop ) - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their writing task - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct * Suggested answer: My friend is Hoa. It was my birthday last week. My friends, Nam, Tuan went to my birthday. They gave me some presents like: books, hat, pens, robot .We sang, danced, played games, ate cakes and took photos. The party was great. Activity 3. Project - Ask ss to work in group to discuss what presents to give a cclassmate for his/ her birthday. - Elicit an idea for model. - Go around and check their work - Comment Activity 4. Wrap up Colour the stars - Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension - Invite sts to read statements aloud - Check their understanding the meaning - Give them to colour about degree that they got after the Unit 4 - Getting their ideas about difficulties to help
