- WEEK 28 UNIT 20: UNIT 20: WHICH ONE IS MORE EXCITING, LIFE IN THE CITY OR LIFE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE? Time: Tuesday, April 12th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Use the words, phrases related to the topics Comparing places. Ask and answer questions to compare places (adjectives with one or two syllables. - Sentence Pattern: Which one is .., .. or ? ̶ I think . - Vocabulary: lake / large, noisy, life in the city, life / busy 2. Skills - Develop listening, reading and speaking skills 3. Attitude/ Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about the they have been. Look, listen and repeat - Introduce the dialogue - Look at the pictures to identify the characters (Mai and Tom) and the context in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions. - Play the recording - Listen follow in their book. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Read in group/ pair: One repeats the question’s part, the other repeats the answer’s part. - Ss give new sentence: Which one is bigger, New York city or Sydney? – I think New York city is.

OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions to compare places, using three-syllable adjectives. - Sentence Patterns: Which one is more ___, ___ or___? − I think ___. - Vocabulary: revision 2. Skills - Develop listening, reading and speaking skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love friends, teachers. - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends.

OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Say the sentences with the correct intonation. + Which one is bigger, London or Hue? ̶ I think London is. + Which one is more beautiful, Ha Long City or Nha Trang? ̶ I think Ha Long City is. - Listen and mark the sentence intonation ( or ). Then say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant Which one is more ? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Say questions and answers with the correct intonation. - Ss look after , solve problems and study themselves. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love friends, teachers. - Love themselves. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about the places in Nam’s country. - - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence intonation a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask sts to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - Give feedback Activity 3. Listen and mark the sentence intonation. Then say the sentences aloud - Have pupils lool at the questions and answers given - Tell sts that they are going to the recording and remark the sentence intonation of each sentence. - Play CD all the way through for them to listen - Play again for them to remark - Have sts swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Then ask the class to say the sentences aloud - Give feedback Activity 4. Let’s chant - Show the chant “Which one is more .?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (Which places? How ?) - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation Activity 5.
