- WEEK 25 UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: Tuesday, March 22nd 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about what the other speaker would like to eat or drink. - Sentence Patterns: What would you like to eat / drink? – I’d like ____, please. - Vocabulary: a packet of biscuits, a bar of chocolate, a glass of orange juice, a carton of lemonade 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Educate Ss how to keep healthy - Positive about eating habits - Students know how to learn English in right way. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work / groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about what someone would like to eat or drink. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: What would you like to eat / drink? – I’d like ____, please. - Vocabulary: a packet of biscuits, a bar of chocolate, a glass of orange juice, a carton of lemonade C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - food and drink pictures - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm -up Netwwork Network water rice meat milk coffee Food Drink fish bread juice tea Activity 2. Look, listen and repeat - Elicit the character - Look at the pictures to identify the characters (food seller and students) and the context in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions. - Introduce the dialogue.
- - Play the recording - Listen follow in their book. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Have sts read in group of 3 to act out the dialogue - Elicits the structure - Ss give new structure sentence: What would you like to eat/ drik? I’d like some rice and fish. Activity 3. Point and say - Teach vocabulary: a bowl, packet/ bar/ glass, bscuit, chocolate - Note write down new words and read after T. Play game: What and where (Whole class) - Say phrases under the pictures. - Model sentence. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Look and find out the model sentences. - Point the pictures and practise asking and answering question: What would you like to eat/ drink? I’d like a packet of biscuits. - Have sts use the prompts under the pictures to practice asking and answering. - All pairs perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. Activity 4. Let’s talk - Give tasks. - Talking about what someone would like to eat/drink, using: What would you like to eat/ drink? I’d like some . - Ss work in pairs. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Pupils practise answering the questions with information about themselves. - Have stst play the “Pass the ball” game to askand answer aloud - Correct their pronunciation and mistake Activity 5. Wrap up - Practice saying what you would like to eat/ drink UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: From Wednesday, March 23rd 2022 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about quantity of food and drink. - Sentence Patterns: How many / much ___ do you eat / drink every day? − I eat / drink. - Vocabulary: bananas, three bananas / rice, four bowls / sausages, two sausages / water, three bottles
- 2. Skills - Listening, writing and reading. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Educate Ss how to keep healthy - Positive about recipes and eating habits - Know how to learn English in right way. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about quantity of food and drink. Look, Listen and repeat - Introduce the dialogue. - The class listen - Look at the pictures in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions . - Play the recording - Sts Listen follow in their book. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Read in group/ pair: One repeats Mai’s part, the other repeats Linda’s part and Tony’s part. - Elicit the model sentences: How many apples do you eat every day? I eat two. Activity 3. Point and say - Teach vocabulary: sausage - Elicits the structure - Ss give new sentence: How much/ many .... do you eat/drink every day? I eat/ drink..... - Look and find out the model sentences. - Point the pictures & practise asking & answering questions given - Model sentence. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary - 2 - 3 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. - The rest of the class observe and give comments. Activity 4. Let’s talk

I eat/ drink..... - Ss work in pairs to ask and answer about themselves. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Correct their pronunciation and mistake - 6-7 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. Activity 5. Wrap – up - Talk about how much/ many (food/drink) you eat/ drink everyday UNIT 17: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO EAT? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: From Friday, March 25th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Give intonation sentences correctly. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped answers. Then say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant : Healthy food and drink. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Develop listening and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to stay healthy. - Have good eating habits. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. Listen and repeat - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences intonation - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence intonation a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - Give feedback Activity 3. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences - Have pupils read the questions and answers given - Tell sts that they are going to the recording and circle the words to complete the answers - Play CD all the way through for them to listen - Play again for them to circle the words - Have sts swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Then ask the class to say the sentences aloud - Give feedback * Key: 1. a 2. b 3. a 4. a Activity 4. Let’s chant - Show the chant “Healthy food and drink” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What food/ drink? How much/ many .?) - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation Activity 5.
