- WEEK 21 UNIT 14: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE STORY? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday, February 8th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Give intonation correctly when tell about the story. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words completing the sentences. - Listen to the story The Fox and the Crow. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Develop listening and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Love reading books and be a good man 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (Ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. Warm-up Question – Answer about An Tiem Story - What happened in the story? + First, + Then, .. + Next, + Finally, .. Activity 2. Listen and repeat - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence intonation a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - Give feedback Activity 3. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences - Have pupils look at the sentences given with pairs of words beside - Tell sts that they are going to listen and circle a or b

Listen to the story - Elicit the characters from the picture of the story: Fox, crow - Explain the words: stood, roof, beak, shook, ground, pick up, .. - Tell the sts thatthey are going to listen to a story called The fox and The crow - Play CD for sts listen and follow the story - Play- Sts repeat - Devide class into 3 teams: 1 says the narrator’s words; 1 says the fox’s words and 1 says the crow’s words - Have sts work in groups of 3 to practice telling the story and doing actions - Invite three groups to tell the story and do actions. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Have sts make 3 sentences at home and focus on the sentence intonation UNIT 14: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE STORY? LESSON 1. 4 + LESSON 3 (4 + 5) Time: From Tuesday, February 8th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Listen and number the pictures. - Read the paragraph, and write the answers to the questions. - Write about the characters in their favourite story. - Tell a story and say what they think of the characters, using the writing frame. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: listening, reading and writing 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To help Ss know how to talk about characters in the stories 4. Forming competence - Communication - Self- study - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks - Present in front of the class B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - What happened in the story? + First, - What do you think of .? + I think he/ she . C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - pictures - laptop, TV
- D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm -up Reteling the story “The fox and the crow” Activity 2. Listen and number - Have sts to look at the 5 pictures given - Elicit the content of the pictures - Give instruction - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and number the pictures in right order - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. * Key: 1 – b; 2 – d; 3 – e; 4 – a; 5 - c Activity 3. Read and write - Show the passage and elicit the content - Give instruction. - Have sts read the text to get information and then write the answers for questions given - Have sts do the task individually - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs to check the answer - Call on some sts to report their answers. * Key: 1. She likes reading folk tales. 2. She thinks they’re usually short and interesting. 3. She thinks the characters are sometimes honest, greedy, wise, stupid. 4. She thinks the fox was clever and the crow was not. 5. Because each of them gives her a lesson in life. Activity 4. Write about the characters in your favourite story - Have sts read the beginning phrases for sentences - Have them give ideas about information of stories that they like - Get some sts answer aloud - Checking understanding how to write - Have sts write in 5 mins - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their writing task - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct * Suggested answer: My favourite story is The fox and the crow. The main characters are the fox and the crow. I like the fox because it’s intelligent. Activity 5. Wrap up - Guide sts practice and retell what in written task.
- UNIT 15: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE FUTURE? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: Tuesday, January 25th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer about what someone would like to be in the future.Pupils can ask and answer questions about what the other speaker would like to be in the future - Sentence patterns: What would you like to be in the future? – I’d like to be a / an - Vocabulary: pilot, doctor, architect, writer 2. Skills - Listening and speaking 3. Attitude/ Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Believe in yourself and go for your dream. - Love themselves. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about what someone would like to be in the future. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence partern: What would you like to be in the future? I’d like to be a/an ... - Vocabulary: pilot, writer, architect, patient, astronaut,.... C. Look, listen and repeat - Introduce the dialogue. - Look at the pictures to identify the characters(Tony, Mai ) and the context in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions. - Play the recording - Listen follow in their book. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Read in group/ pair: One repeats Tony’s part, the other repeats Mai’s part . - Elicits the structure - Ss give new structure sentence: What would you like to be in the future? Let’s talk - Give tasks. - Talking about what someone would like to be in the future, using What would you like to be in the future? I’d like to be a/an ... - Ss work in pairs. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Pupils practise answering the questions with information about themselves. - 6-7 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. - Correct their pronunciation and mistake Activity 5. Wrap up - Say what you want to be in the future
