- WEEK 19 UNIT 13: WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: Tuesday, January 18th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about what the other speaker’s family member does in his or her free time. - Sentence Patterns: What does your do in his / her free time? − He / She is . - Vocabulary: father, go fishing / mother, go swimming / brother, go skating / sister, go camping 2. Skills - Develop listening and speaking skill 3. Attitude/ Quality - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Ss will love outdoor activites, take part in activities actively, go out and play with other people some time. - Hobbies can be good for yourself and even better if we can share with other people. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about this topics. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: What does your do in his / her free time? − He / She is . - Vocabulary: father, go fishing / mother, go swimming / brother, go skating / sister, go camping C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Miming go fishing/ go swimming/ go skating/ go camping Activity 2. Look, Listen and repeat - Set the scene: Who? Where? What? - Elicit the context of the picture - Give the content - Play CD for sts listen and follow in their books - Play again – sts repeat - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. => Elicit the model sentences: A: What does your mother do in her free time? B: She goes shopping. Activity 3. Point and say - Have pupils look at pictures with activities
- - Run through the phrase words - Model (a) A: What does your father do in his free time? B: He goes fishing. - Give instruction - Point to each picture and ask what they do in their free time - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Ask sts work in pairs to ask and answer - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistake when necessary. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 4. Let’s talk - Have sts know what to do in this part - Tell the class that they are going to ask and answer about their real family memers do in their free time and how often they do - Run through. - Give instruction. - Model: T: What does your mother do in her free time? St1: She goes shopping. T : How often does she go shopping St1: Everyday - Give sts 3 mins for sts practice (about other members) - Get sts to work in pairs to interact. - Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class. - Check ss’ pronunciation. Activity 5. Wrap – up - Ask sts to retell what their family members do in their free time - Have sts copy down model sentences UNIT 13: WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday - Wednesday, January 18th – 19th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Give intonation correctly when ask and answer about someone does in his/her free time. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped sentences. - Say the chant: What do you do? - Sentence Pattern: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality
- - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Ss will love outdoor activites, take part in activities actively, go out and play with other people some time. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (Ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. Let’s chant - Show the chant “What do you do?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What do you do? What does he/ she do?) - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation

Knowledge - Listen and tick the right pictures to decide what they do in their free time - Read and match the information about Lien’s family members free time activities. - Write about their weekend activities - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: listening, reading and writing 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To help Ss know how to talk about their free time activities 4. Forming competence - Communication - Self- study - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks - Present in front of the class B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - What do you do in your free time? + I . C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - pictures - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Listen and tick - Have sts to look at 3 groups of pictures with activities given - Elicit the names of activities - Give instruction. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct pictures - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. * Key: 1. b 2. a 3. b Activity 3.
