  1. WEEK 18 UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: From Monday – Tuesday, January 11th - 12th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about accident prevention. - Sentence Patterns: Why shouldn’t I ___? − Because you may ___. - Vocabulary: play with the knife, cut yourself / play with the stove, get a burn / ride too fast, fall off your bike / run down the stairs, break your arm. 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Know what is dangerous and warn others against doing such things - Educate Ss how to keep safe and prevent accidents. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about possible accident at home, using Don’t ...! OK, I won’t. B. C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up - Have the class sing the song Don’t do that! - Lead into new lesson Activity 2. Look, Listen and repeat - Havethem look at the pictures and guess what the story is about. - Check their comprehension by pointing at each picture and eliciting their answers to these questions: Who are they? What are they talking about? What are they doing? - Play the recording and ask pupils to look at their book and listen to the tape - Play it again for them to repeat line by line . - Ask pupils to work in pairs to practice the dialogue. - Go around and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. - Others give comments. - Give comments. Activity 3. Point and say - Tell the class that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about accident prevention. * Structure: Why shouldn’t I ...? Because you may ....
  2. - Explain new words: fall off, break, leg. - Say aloud the structure and the words under each picture, then ask pupils to repeat them a few times. - Call some pupils to read aloud the structure and the words. - Ask pupils to write down them into their notebook. - Ask pupils to work in pairs, then point at the pictures to ask and answer using the structure. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class. - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation Activity 4. Let’s talk - Tell the class that they are going to practice by talking about accident prevention, using: + What is he/she doing? He/ She is .. + He/ She shouldn’t do that! + Why shouldn’t he/she ? Because he/she may - Set a time limit for the class to practice talking in pairs. - Go around the class and offer help, if necessary. - Invite a few pairs to act out their exchanges in front of the class. - Give feedback. Activity 5. Wrap – up Give some reasons why someone shouldn’t do something UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday - Wednesday, January 4th – 5th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Say questions and answers with the correct intonation. +Don’t play with the knife. ̶ OK, I won’t. +Don’t play with the matches. ̶ OK, I won’t. +Why shouldn’t I play with the knife? ̶ Because you may cut yourself. +Why shouldn’t I play with the stove? ̶ Because you may get a burn. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped sentences. - Say the chant Why shouldn’t he do that? Listen and repeat - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence intonation a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat

Let’s chant - Show the chant “Why shouldn’t he do that?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What’s he doing? Why shouldn’t he .?) - Play the tape a few times. - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Have sts make 3 sentences at home and stress them UNIT 13: WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: Friday, January 14th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about what the other speaker does in his / her free time. - Sentence Patterns: What do you do in your free time? – I ____. - Vocabulary: surf the Internet, go to the cinema, clean the house, do karate 2. Skills - Develop listening and speaking skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Ss will love outdoor activites, take part in activities actively, go out and play with your friends some time. - Ss help their parents to do housework. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about this topics.

Look, listen and repeat - Have pupils look at the dialogue on the screen - Ask pupils the names of the characters and what they are doing -Tell them that they are going to hear Tom and Nam are talking about what he does in his free time - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. Activity 3.
