  1. WEEK 17 UNIT 11: WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH YOU? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday – Wednesday, January 3rd - 4th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Giving and responding to advice on common heath proplems. - Pupils can give and respond to advice on common health problems. - Sentence Patterns: You should / shouldn’t ___. − Yes, I will. Thanks. / − OK, I won’t. Thanks. - Vocabulary: go to the doctor, go to the dentist, take a rest, eat a lot of fruit, carry heavy things, eat a lot of sweets 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Ss know how to take care their healthy and to care for other people. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation love schools and about common health problems. - Self-study ability, ability to operate, live responsibly. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - You should/ shouldn’t + Yes, I will/ Ok, I won’t - Vocabulary: take a rest, carry heavy things, sweets, dentist C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Sing the song: “What’s the matter with you?” Activity 2. Look, Listen and repeat - Have them look at the pictures and guess what the story is about. - Check their comprehension by pointing at each picture and eliciting their answers to these questions: Who are they? What are they talking about? What are they doing? - Play the recording and ask pupils to look at their book and listen to the tape - Play it again for them to repeat line by line. - Ask pupils to work in pairs to practice the dialogue. - Go around and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue. - Check some pairs. - Others give comments. - Give comments. Activity 3. Point and say - Tell the class that they are going to practice giving advice on common health problems and responding. * Structure: You should/shouldn’t ... Yes, I will./Ok, I won’t.
  2. - Explain new words: should, karate, backache, dentist, take a rest, fruit, carry heavy things. - Say aloud the structure and the words under each picture, then ask pupils to repeat them a few times. - Call some pupils to read aloud the structure and the words. - Ask pupils to write down them into their notebook. - Ask pupils to work in pairs, then point at the pictures to ask and answer using the structure. - Call some pairs to practice in front of the class. - Give feedback and correct mistakes of pronunciation Activity 4. Let’s talk - Tell the class that they are going to practice by giving advice on health problems and responding., using: + I have a/an + You should + You shouldn’t . - Set a time limit for the class to practice talking in pairs. - Go around the class and offer help, if necessary. - Invite a few pairs to act out their exchanges in front of the class. - Give feedback. - Summary the lesson - Tell pupils to read the part 1 again. - Do exercises in workbook, learn by heart the new words and the pattern Activity 5. Wrap – up - Give some advices with common diease UNIT 11: WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH YOU? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday - Wednesday, January 4th – 5th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about health problems. - Say the questions and the answers with the correct intonation. What’s the matter with you? ̶ I have a headache. What’s the matter with you? ̶ I have a toothache. What’s the matter with you? ̶ I have a stomach ache. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words completing the answers. Then ask and answer the questions. - Say the chant: What’s the matter with you? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends.

Listen and repeat - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence intonation a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - Give feedback Activity 3. Let’s chant - Show the chant “Why shouldn’t he do that?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What’s he doing? Why shouldn’t he .?) - Play the tape a few times. - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Have sts make 3 sentences at home and stress them UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: Friday, January 7th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES

Knowledge - Ss say questions and answers with the correct intonation. - Ss look after, solve problems and study themselves. - Pupils can express and respond to concerns about possible accidents at home. - Sentence Patterns: Don’t ____! – OK, I won’t. - Vocabulary: play with matches, ride your bike too fast, climb the tree, run down the stairs 2. Skills - Develop listening, speaking and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to keep safe and prevent accidents. 4. Forming competence - Co-operation (Ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study ( can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. What are they doing? - Play the recording for pupils to listen to the tape - Play the recording again and ask them to repeat a few times. - Explain new word: knife, cut, cabbage, stove, touch, burn, matches, fast, climb, stairs. - Say aloud the words, then ask pupils to repeat the words a few times - Have pupils write down the new words into their notebooks. - Play the recording again for them to repeat line by line. - Ask pupils to practice in pairs to act out the dialogue. - Check some pairs.
