  1. WEEK 14 UNIT 9: WHAT DID YOU SEE AT THE ZOO? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: From Monday to Tuesday, December 13th, 14th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about what animals did in the zoo. - Sentence Patterns: What did the ___ do when you were there? − They ___. - Vocabulary: tigers, roar loudly / peacocks, move beautifully / pythons, move quietly / pandas, eat slowly 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - To help Ss loving English, love animals. 4. Forming competence - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problem themselves - Use language to talk about animals. C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Students’ book (page 60) - Laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm -up 1. Sing the song: “What did you see at the zoo?” 2. Network slow quiet Adj quick loud - Have sts know how to chage into advs from the adjs. Activity 2. Look, Listen and repeat - Set the scene: - Elicit the context of the picture - Have sts look at the pictures and guess what the animals did - Check comprehension by pointing at each picture to elicit their answers for: - What did the lions do? + They roared loudly. - Play CD for sts listen and follow in their books - Play again – sts repeat - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class.

Point and say - Have pupils look at pictures with actions the animals made. - Run through the phrase words - Use flashcards to teach the question and answer in the speech bubbles. Have sts repeat the words a few times. - Model (a) A: What did the tigers do? B: They roared loudly - Give instruction - Point to each picture and ask how the animals did - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts work in pairs. - Call some pairs practice in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistake when necessary. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 4. Let’s talk - Have stst read aloud 2 questions given - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about what animals they saw and what they did - Run through. - Give instruction. - Model: What are your favourite animals at the zoo? – They’re What did the tigers do when you were there? – They roared loudly. - Give sts 3 mins for sts practice (about rael situations) - Get sts to work in pairs to interact. - Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class. - Check ss’ pronunciation. Activity 5. Wrap – up a. Summary the lesson - Ask sts to retell what animals they saw and what they did - Have stst copy down new words and model sentences b. Guide sts to do exercises at home - Have sts do the ex C in WB. - Checking TEST Time: From Tuesday to Wednesday December 14th -15th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES To check the quatity of teaching and learning.

Then say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant At the circus. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Develop Ss’listening and speaking skills 3. I’m ‘reading the ‘Fox and the ‘Crow. Activity 2. Listen and repeat - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences stress - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence stress a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - Give feedback Activity 3. Listen and underline the stressed words. Then say the sentences aloud - Have pupils look at sentences given - Tell sts that they are going to listen and underline the stressed words - Play CD – sts listen and underline - Get sts’ answer - Give feedback * Key: 1. Let’s chant - Show the chant “At the circus” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What animals? What they did?) - Play the tape a few times. - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation.
