- WEEK 12 UNIT 7: HOW DO YOU LEARN ENGLISH? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: From Monday to Tuesday, November 29th - 30th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Say the questions and the answers with the correct sentence stress. 'How do you 'practise 'speaking? ̶ I 'speak 'English 'every 'day. 'How do you 'practise 'reading? ̶ I 'read 'English 'comic 'books. 'How do you 'practise 'writing? ̶ I 'write 'emails to my 'friends. 'Why do you 'learn 'English? ̶ Be'cause I 'want to 'sing 'English 'songs. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct verb phrases completing the sentences. Then say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant How do you learn English? 2. Skills - Develop Ss’ speaking and listening skills 3. Attitude/ Quality - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - Love school subjects, love to learn English 4. Forming competence - Prepare their own school things - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends, ready to help their friends. - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary: revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Read the sentences with correct sentence stress ‘How many ‘lessons do you ‘have to’day? I ‘have ‘four. Activity 2. Listen and repeat - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences stress - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence stress a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - give feedback Activity 3. Listen and circle a or b. Then say the sentences - Have pupils read the words given
- - Tell sts that they are going to listen and circle a or b to complete the sentences - Play Cd – sts listen and circle - Get sts’ answer - Give feedback * Key: 1. b 2. a 3. a 4. b - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to read and mark word stress for the sentences - Have sts do the task individually. - Compare the answers with the partners. - Gets the answer Activity 4. Let’s chant - Show the chant “How do you learn English?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What skills? How they learn? Why ?) - Play the tape a few times. - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Do exercises E in workbook UNIT 7: HOW DO YOU LEARN ENGLISH? LESSON 1. 4 + LESSON 3 (4 + 5) Time: From Tuesday to Wednesday November 30th –December 1st 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Listen and tick the pictures about subjects and the table - Read and tick about Mai’s information - Write about their friends’ ways to practise English skills - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills listening, reading and writing 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To help Ss know how to talk about their weekend activities 4. Forming competence - Communication - Self- study - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks - Present in front of the class

Warm – up Saying the chant “How do you learn English?” Activity 2. Listen and tick - Have sts to look 4 groups of pictures - Elicit the skill in each picture - Give instruction. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct pictures - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. * Key: 1.b 2.c 3. a 4. b Activity 3. Read and tick True (T) or False (F) - Ask sts to open their book on page 51 - Give instruction. - Elicit: What’s kind of the reading text? – A passage - Explain the meaning: guess, stick, understand, necessary, communication - Ask sts to read the text. - Have sts look and read the sentences given below - Expalin what they have to do: read the passage and sentences to compare information if they are True or False - Have sts do the task in pairs - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs to check the answer - Call on some sts to report their answers. * Key: 1 - T; 2 - F; 3 - T; 4 - T; 5- F Activity 4. Write about how your friend learns English - Have sts read the phrases and words that start each sentence given - Checking understanding how to complete the sentences - Have sts work in pairs to ask their friends how he/ she learns English - Have sts write in 7 mins individually - Remind sts how to write in correct way - Go around to help - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their answers aloud - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct Activity 5. - Summary the lesson UNIT 8: WHAT ARE YOU READING? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: From Wednesday to Friday, December 1st - 3rd 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about what story/book someone is reading. - Sentence Patterns: What are you reading? – I’m reading ____. - Vocabulary: The Fox and the Crow, The Story of Mai An Tiem, Aladdin and the Magic Lamp, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs 2. Skills - Develop listening reading and speaking skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - To help Ss loving English. 4. Forming competence - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problem themselves - Use language to talk about what story/book someone is reading. B. Look, listen and repeat Look, listen and repeat - Have pupils look at the screen the dialogue between Peter and Tony - Ask pupils the names of the characters and what they are doing -Tell them that they are going to hear Peter and Tony talking about a story - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books.
- - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles.
