  1. WEEK 11 UNIT 6: HOW MANY LESSONS DO YOU HAVE TODAY? LESSON 1. 4 + LESSON 3 (5 + 6) Time: From Monday to Tuesday November 21st – 22nd 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Listen and tick the pictures about subjects and the table - Read and complete about timetable - Write about their time table - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: listening, reading and writing 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To help Ss know how to talk about their weekend activities 4. Forming competence - Communication - Self- study - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks - Present in front of the class B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker - poster D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm – up Reading the chant “How often do you have ?” Activity 2. Listen and tick - Have sts to look at subjects and the table with 3 names: Long, Minh, Lan given - Give instruction - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick into the table with right names - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. * Key: 1. Long: Math, IT and science 2. Minh: Science, Music, Art and IT 3. Vietnamese, Maths, English, IT and PE. Activity 3. Read and complete - Ask sts to open their book on page 45 - Give instruction. - Elicit: Who is she? What is she talking about? - Ask sts to read the text to get information to complete the sentences. - Have sts do the task individually
  2. - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs to check the answer - Call on some sts to report their answers. * Key: 1. August. 2. Write about your school and lessons - Have sts read the beginning phrases for sentences - Elicit some ideas about each sentence - Get some sts answer aloud - Checking understanding how to write - Have sts write in 5 mins - Remind sts how to write in correct way (capital letters, comma, full stop ) - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their writing task - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct * Suggested answer: My school started in September. I go to school from Monday to Friday. I have four lessons a day. I have Maths, Music, Vietnamese and English on Wednesday. I have Music on Thursday. I have English four times a week. Activity 5. Wrap -up Summary the lesson UNIT 7: HOW DO YOU LEARN ENGLISH? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday to Wednesday November 23rd – 24th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Pupils can ask and answer questions about how the other speaker practises English. - Sentence Patterns: How do you practise ______? – I _______. - Vocabulary: speak English / speak English every day, listen to English / watch English cartoons on TV, write English / write emails to my friends, read English / read short stories 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - To help Ss loving English.
  3. - Help Ss find out their most suitable and efficient ways of learning English. 4. Forming competence - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problem by themselves - Use language to talk about how someone learns English. B. Warm -up Network reading English listening skills talking speaking writing Activity 2. Look, listen and repeat Whole class: Have pupils look at the dialogue on the screen - Ask pupils the names of the characters and what they are doing -Tell them that they are going to hear Mai and Tom are talking about where they will go this weekend - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. Activity 3. Point and say - Play the CD twice for sts listen and repeat - Explain the pattern: How do you practice speaking English? I speak English everyday - Explain and Run through the key words/ phrases: practice, write emails, short story - Point at each picture and ask the question base on the model - Have sts practice asking and answering in pairs - Monitor the activity and help sts if they need - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance - Give feedback Activity 4.   4. - Tell class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about English. - Run through 3 questions: How often do you have English? Do you have English today? How do you practice .? - Elicit the answers for questions one by one - Model - Get sts to work in pairs (or go around) to ask each other about the questions related to English in 5 mins - Call some groups act out their work - Give feedback Activity 5. Wrap up - Retell the content of the lesson. + Vocabulary; Sentence pattern: - Guide sts do exs at home - Have sts do the exs C, D in WB. - Checking UNIT 7: HOW DO YOU LEARN ENGLISH? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday to Friday November 23rd -26th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Pupils can ask and answer questions about the importance of learning English. - Sentence Patterns: Why do you learn English? − Because I want to ______. - Vocabulary: watch English cartoons on TV, read English comic books, talk with my foreign friends 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - To help Ss loving English. Motivate Ss to learn English. 4. Forming competence - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problemby themselves - Use language to talk about how and why someone learns English. B.
