  1. WEEK 10 UNIT 6: HOW MANY LESSONS DO YOU HAVE TODAY? LESSON 1 (1 - 3) Time: From Monday to Tuesday November 15th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about the number of lessons the other speaker has that day. - Sentence Patterns: How many lessons do you have today? – I have _______. - Vocabulary: have, days of the week (abbreviation), Maths, IT, Science, Art, Music, Vietnamese, PE, English. 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - Love school subjects, love to learn English 4. Forming competence - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problem by themselves - Use language to talk about how often someone has a subject B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - How many lessons do you have today? + I have . - Vocabulary: school subjects C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm -up Watching a video about school subjects - Get sts retell the names of subjects - Give feedback Activity 2. Vocabulary maths IT Science Art Music Vietnamese English Activity 3. Look, listen and repeat - Have pupils look at the screen the dialogue between Mai and Quan - Ask pupils the names of the characters and what they are doing -Tell them that they are going to hear Mai and Quan talking about school subjects they have
  2. - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. Activity 4. Point and say - Retell the names of subjects and days in the table: - Play the CD twice for sts listen and repeat - Explain the pattern: How many lessons do you have today? I have _____________. - Run through the key words/ phrases - Point at each picture and ask the question base on the model - Have sts practice asking and answering in pairs - Monitor the activity and help sts if they need - Invite some pairs to speak to check their performance - Give feedback - Tell class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about school subjects - Get sts to work in pairs to act out to ask about the numbers and the names of subjects they have today - Remind them to use the questions and answers in their books How many lessons do you have today? – I have ..   3. - Checking UNIT 6: HOW MANY LESSONS DO YOU HAVE TODAY? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday - Wednesday November 16th -17th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about how often the other speaker has a lesson. - Sentence Patterns: How often do you have ___? − I have it ______. - Vocabulary: once a week, twice a week, four times a week, every school day 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - Love school subjects, love to learn English 4. Forming competence - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends - Can perform individual tasks and solve a problem by themselves - Use language to talk about how often someone has a subject B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - How often do you have ? + I have it .. .. - Vocabulary: C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Students’ book (page 32) - Activity pictures on page 32 - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Review How often do you watch TV? I watch TV everyday once a week twice a month Activity 2: Look, listen and repeat - Set the scene: - Elicit the context of the picture - Have sts look at the pictures and guess what the story is about - Check comprehension by pointing at each picture to elicit the content for each picture - Play CD for sts listen and follow in their books - Play again – sts repeat - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play

Activity 3: Point and say - Have pupils look at pictures with books and times under them - Run through the names of subjects and times - Model (a) A: How often do you have Music? B: I have it once a week.. - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Repeat the procedure with the second picture. - Ask sts work in pairs to practice asking and answering base on the model. - Call some pairs say aloud in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistake when necessary. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 4. Let’s talk - Have stst read aloud 2 questions given - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about how many and how often they have lessons - Run through. - Give instruction. - Model: A: How many lessons do you have today? B: I have four: Maths, English, Vietnamese and Art. A: How often do you have English? B: I have it four times a week. - Give sts 3 mins for sts practice (about their timetable) - Get sts to work in groups of three to interact. - Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class. - Check sts’ pronunciation. Activity 5. Wrap – up a. Summary the lesson b. Guide sts to do exercises at home - Have sts do the ex C in WB. - Checking UNIT 6: HOW MANY LESSONS DO YOU HAVE TODAY? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: From Tuesday to Friday, November 16th - 19th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Say the questions and the answers with the correct sentence stress.
  5. 'How many 'lessons do you 'have to'day? ̶ I 'have 'four. 'How many 'crayons do you 'have? ̶ I 'have 'five. 'How many 'books do you 'have? ̶ I 'have 'six. 'How many 'copybooks do you 'have? ̶ I 'have 'seven. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped sentences. Then say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant How often do you have ___? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: days of the week, school subjects, frequency 2. Skills - Listening and speaking 3. Attitude/ Quality - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - Confident in communicating with classmates - Love school subjects, love to learn English 4. Forming competence - Prepare their own school things - Easy to get to know, easy to make friends, ready to help their friends. - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary: revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Review words stresses river, mountain, city, village usually, always, often, never, sometimes underground, motorbike, holiday, family Activity 2. Let’s chant - Show the chant “How often do you have ?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What lessons? How many lessons? How often ?) - Play the tape a few times. - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation.
