  1. WEEK 8 UNIT 5: CAN YOU SWIM? LESSON 1. 4 + LESSON 3 (4 + 5) Time: Monday, November 1st 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Listen and tick the activities - Read and complete about Mai’s abilities - Write about someone’s abilities - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: listening, reading and writing 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To help Ss know how to talk about their abilities 4. Forming competence - Communication - Self- study - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks - Present in front of the class B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: My name is . I can I can’t . C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker - poster D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm – up Recite the chant: “Can you swim?” Activity 2. Listen and tick - Have pupils look the activities given in each line . - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 3 dialoges and tick the correct pictures. - Play the recording twice pupils to listen and choose the correct answers. - Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gives the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1- b ; 2 - a ; 3- c Activity 3. Read and complete - Have pupils turn their books to Page 35 - Tell pupils that they are going to read Peter’s letter to get the information in order to write their right names bellow the pictures. - Pupils read the passage individually and do the task. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary & Sentence Patterns: Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker - poster D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm – up Questions and answer: How many units are there you have learnt? Activity 2. Vocabulary Brainstorming - Get ss to brainstorming new words they’ve learnt. * Nice to see you again: morning, afternoon, evening, night, tomorrow, later, gain, see, meet, Viet Nam, England * Names of countries and nationalities

REVIEW 1 (EXERCISES) Time: Friday, November 5th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to: - do the exercises in students’ book - reinforce listening, speaking, writing skills B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary & Sentence Patterns: Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker - poster D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Doing exercises - Have ss to open their book, page 36. - Give instruction - Ask ss to do - Call ss to read their answer Exercise 1 Listen and tick - Have sts to look 3 pictures in each line - Elicit the places and activities in each picture
