  1. WEEK 5 Class 4C, 4D UNIT 3: WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: Monday, October 11th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce the sounds of the letters ir, ur and er in the words first, Thursday and her respectively. - Pronounce the letter clusters ir in first, ur in Saturday, and er in her. - Listen and circle the correct words completing the gapped sentences. Then say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant: What do you do on ? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Ss love their countries. - To help Ss know how to make friends. 4. Forming competence - Co- operation - Self- study - Ss know how to greet and respond to greeting. - Communicate English with friends and teacher well B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary: revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Numbers -> Ordinal numbers one first two second Activity 2. Listen and repeat Have pupils turn to page 22 of their Student Books. - Tell them they are going to learn how to produce the sound /ir/, /ur/ and /er/ in the words first, Thursday and her. - Produce the sound /ir/, /ur/ and /er/ a few times. Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear these sounds. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. Activity 3. Listen and circle. Then say aloud: - Have pupils look the sentences and words given. - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen four dialogues and circle the correct words.
  2. - Play the recording twice pupils to listen and choose the correct answers. Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1- b 2- b 3 - a Activity 4. Let’s chant What do you do on ..? - Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 22 written on it on the board. - Tell pupils that they are going to chant. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. - Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Do exercises E in workbook, learn by heart the new words UNIT 3: WHAT DAY IS IT TODAY? LESSON 1. 4 + LESSON 3 (5 + 6) Time: Wednesday, October 13th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Listen and tick the days. - Read and the information about Mai and answer the questions. - Write to introduce about class, day and what they do at the weekend. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: listening, reading and writing 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To help Ss know how to introduce themselves about class, day and weekend activities. 4. Forming competence - Communication - Self- study - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks - Present in front of the class B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: My name is . Listen and tick - Have pupils look the days given in lines. - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen four dialoges and tick the correct words. - Play the recording twice pupils to listen and choose the correct answers. Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. • Pairwork. - Have pupils trade their answers in pairs for the correction. -Call on some pupils to report their answers. - Make a few questions to check pupils' about the dialogue. - Give feedback 1. Write about you - Have pupils read the questions given. - Pupils work in groups to discuss the information to answer the questions - Pupils write the answers individually. - Monitor the activity, and offer help when necessary. - Call on some pupils to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board. - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. * Suggested answer: I am in class 4A.
