- WEEK 24 SHORT STORY Time: Monday, March 14th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Read and listen to the story. - Develop Ss reading and listening skills. - Read and listen to the short story. - Answer the questions. - Unscramble the words from the story. - Read and fill a gapped conversation. - Work in pairs to talk about their last holiday. - Read and match the questions with the answers. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Read and listen to the story. Then fill in the gaps - Ask ss to listen to the story twice - Elicit the vocab: musician - Listen and fill in the gaps - Get sts’ answer: 1. works 2. plays 3. taller 4. do 5. beach - Have sts to practice reading in pairs - Call some pairs to read - Comment Activity 2. Look, listen and repeat Have pupils turn their books to Page 40 - Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures: Mai and Phong - Elicit information from the pictures - Explain the meaning of the language practised - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the steps a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class - Get sts’ ideas about the model sentences: - Let’s go to the bookshop. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Ask for the reasons for going somewhere, and respond to the questions.

Skills - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Live responsibly, know how to keep safe - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Self- study - Communication and co-operation B. Sts give out suggestions Ex: T: I want to buy some food. Sts: Let’s go the supermarket. Activity 2. Look, Listen and repeat - Ask pupils the names of the characters in the dialogue: Linda, Tony and Mai. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class. - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Why do you want to go to the supermarket? + Because I want to buy something to eat.
