  1. WEEK 22 UNIT 14: WHAT DOES HE LOOK LIKE? LESSON 1. 4 + LESSON 3 (4 + 5) Time: Monday, February 14th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Listen and tick the the correct pictures with food and drinks - Read the email and write the answers to the questions. - Read the writing frame, and write an email. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: listening, reading and writing 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Ss look after, solve problems and study themselves. - Studious and obedient students and love their family. - Students know how to learn English in right way - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Communication and co-operation. - Problem solving and creativity B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker, overhead - poster D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm – up Recite the chant: This is my family Activity 2. Listen and tick - Have pupils look at the 3 pictures given with some people’ appearances - Get sts say aloud one by one - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 3 dialogues and tick the correct pictures with their appearance. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct answers. - Compare the answers with the partners. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gets the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1- c ; 2 - c ; 3 - a Activity 3. Read and write - Have pupils open their books at Page 29 - Elicit the content of reading task - Tell pupils that they are going to read Marie’s letter to get the information.

Activity 4. - Elicit sts how to write a letter to tell about their family - Have pupils answer the following questions: - What’s your name? - How many people does your family have? - How old is your father? What does he do? What does he look like? - Get sts’ ideas -> Give feedback and contribute - Ask sts write letters to their friends about their families. - Pupils write individually - Monitor the activity, and offer help when necessary. - Call on some pupils to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals. - Have pupils comment the answer on the board. - Call some pupils read aloud their work in front of the class. * Suggested answer: Dear Mary, My name is Lan. I’m nine years old. There are four people in my family: my father, mother, sister and me. My father is 42 years old. He’s a farmer. He’s tall and strong. My mother is 36 years old. She’s a worker. Look, listen and repeat - Have pupils turn their books to Page 30 - Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures: Mai and Tom - Elicit information from the pictures - Explain the meaning of the language practised - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the steps a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class - get sts’ ideas about the model sentences: - When’s Children’s day? - It’s on the first of June.

Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about what people do at a festival. - Pupils can ask and answer questions about what the other speaker does at Tet. - Sentence Patterns: What do you do at Tet? ̶ I _________. - Vocabulary: make banh chung, decorate the house, watch firework displays, visit grandparents 2. Skills - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Live responsibly - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Self- study - Communication and co-operation B.
