Knowledge - Pupils can ask and answer questions about the someone’s favourite food and drink. - Sentence Patterns:What your favourite ______? − It’s ______. - Vocabulary:food, beef / food, pork / drink, orange juice / drink, water 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Educate Ss how to keep healthy - Positive about recipes and eating habits - Students know how to learn English in right way. 4. Forming competence - Self- study - Communication and co-operation. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - What’s your favourite food/drink? + It’s ... C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - activities pictures - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm -up Showing a video about food and drink -> Lead in the new lesson Activity 2. Look, listen and repeat Have pupils turn their books to Page 18 - Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures - Elicit information from the pictures - Explain the meaning of the language practised - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the steps a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class - get sts’ ideas about the model sentences: A: What’s your favourite food/drink? Knowledge - Offer someone food or drink and accept / decline someone's offer. - Sentence Patterns: Would you like to some ______? - Yes, please. / - No, thanks. - Vocabulary: bread, rice, vegetable, lemonade 2. Skills. - Develop Ss speaking and listening skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Educate Ss how to keep healthy 4. Forming competence - Self- study. - Communication and co-operation. B. Activity 1: Warm -up Sing the song “My favourite food and drink” Activity 2: Look, Listen and repeat - Ask pupils the names of the characters and where they are: Linda, Mai and her mother. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class. - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Would you like some noodles? + Yes, please. Activity 3. Point and say - Ask Sts to look at the pictures given. - Play CD for sts listen and repeat all the names of food and drink given - Read the words and have pupils read in chorus, individuals. - Explain the pattern: - Would you like some noodles? + Yes, please - Ask pupils about what they get information to say. - Tell them that they are going to offer and give answer - Have pupils to ask and answer using the model sentences - Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: Friday, January 21st 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge
  4. - Pronounce the final letters f in beef and leaf, and the final letter clusters sh in fish and dish. - Listen and tick the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped sentences. Then say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant Would you like some fish? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Educate Ss how to keep healthy - Positive about recipes and eating habits - Students know how to learn English in right way - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Communication and co-operation. - problem solving and creativity. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary: revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm -up: Writing - Have sts come to the board and write the word with /f/ and /sh/ letters - Give feedback Activity 2. Listen and repeat - Have pupils look at the poster with the content of part 1 (sts’ book – Page 22) - Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the sound /f/ and /sh/ with different words. - Produce the sound /f/ in beef, leaf, sound /sh/ in fish and dish a few times. Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear the sound. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. - Give the notes how to pronoun /f/ and /sh/ in different words Activity 3. Listen and tick. Then write and say aloud - Have pupils look and read the uncompleted sentences given. - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen to 4 sentences and tick the words they hear to fill in the gaps. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and repeat. - Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer: Answer: 1- a 2- b 3- a 4- b Activity 4. Would you like some fish? - Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 22 written on it on the board. - Tell pupils that they are going to chant. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables.
  5. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. - Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Tell stw to find other words that have “f” and “sh”
