- WEEK 18 UNIT 12: WHAT DOES YOUR FATHER DO? LESSON 1 (1 + 2) Time: Monday, January 10th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about someone's job. - Sentence patterns: What does your______ do? − He's / She’s ______. - Vocabulary: farmer, nurse, driver, factory 2. Skills - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Live responsibly, Love family - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence - Self- study. - Communication and co-operation. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - What does your . do? + He’s/ She’s ... C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - activities pictures - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1. Warm -up: - Showing a video about jobs Activity 2. Look, listen and repeat Have pupils turn their books to Page 12 - Ask pupils about the characters in the pictures - Elicit information from the pictures - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the steps a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class - get sts’ ideas about the model sentences: - What does your father do? + He’s ... Activity 3. Point and say - Get sts say about the time - Play the CD for sts listen through the time

Ask pupils to point and say about the time by asking and answering Qs given - Have pupils look at the time to practice in pairs to ask and answer base on the model - Model * Pairwork: - Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation (stress, assimilation of sounds and intonation), and offer help when necessary. - Call on some pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. - Make a few questions to check pupils' comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus Activity 4. LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: Wednesday, January 12th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Pupils can ask and answer questions about places to work. - Sentence Patterns: Where does a ____ work? − A _____ works _____. - Vocabulary: doctor, in a hospital / farmer, in a field / worker, in a factory / clerk, in an office 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Live responsibly - Love family - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence: - Self- study. - Communication and co-operation. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - Where does a _____ work? + A _____ works _________. C. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Sing the song about jobs and where to work Activity 2: Look, Listen and repeat - Ask pupils the names of the characters and where they are: Mai and Nam - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class. - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Where does he work? + In a factory. Activity 3: Point and say - Ask Sts to look at the pictures given. - Play CD for sts listen and repeat all the names of jobs with the places given - Read the words and have pupils read in chorus, individuals. - Explain the pattern: - Where does a ________ work? + A _______ works _________. - Ask pupils about what they get information to say. - Tell them that they are going to ask and answer where the people works with the jobs given - Have pupils to ask and answer using the model sentences - Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give respond. Activity 4. Let’s talk - Ask them to read the questions given: What does your father/ mother/ do? Where does he/ she work? - Model - Ask pupils to answer the questions. - Have pupils talk about their family members’ jobs and the places - Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation (stress, assimilation of sounds and intonation), and offer help when necessary. - Call on some sts to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. Activity 5. Wrap – up - Have sts to tell where their family members work UNIT 12: WHAT DOES YOUR FATHER DO? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: Friday, January 14th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:
- 1. Knowledge - Pronounce the letter clusters ie in field and piece, and ea in teacher and reading. - Listen and circle the correct words. Then say the sentences with the circled words. - Say the chant Jobs and places of work. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills - Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality - Ss look after, solve problems and study themselves. - Studious and obedient students and love their family. 4. Forming competence - Communication and co-operation. - Problem solving and creativity B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary: revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Say the pairs words (jobs – places) Ex: doctor - hospital - Give feedback Activity 2. Listen and repeat - Have pupils look at the poster with the content of part 1 (sts’ book – Page 16) - Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the sound /ie/ and /ea/ with different words. - Produce the sound /ie/ in field, piece, sound /ea/ teacher and reading a few times. Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear the sound. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. - Give the notes how to pronoun /ie/ and /ea/ in different words Activity 3. Listen and circle. Then say sentences with the circled words - Have pupils look and read the uncompleted sentences given. - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen the 2 words and circle the words they hear. - Play the recording twice pupils for listen and repeat. - Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer: Answer: 1- b 2- b Activity 4. Let’s chant: Jobs and places of work - Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 16 written on it on the board. - Tell pupils that they are going to chant. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables.
- - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. - Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Tell stw to find other words that have “ie” sound
