- WEEK 17 UNIT 11: WHAT TIME IS IT? LESSON 2 (1 - 3) Time: Wednesday, January 5th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to 1. Knowledge - Ask and answer questions about daily routines. - Sentence Patterns: What time do you ____? − I _____ at _____. - Vocabulary: get up, have breakfast, have dinner, go to bed 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Save the time. - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation - Using language to ask and answer questions about daily routines. B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: - What time do you .? + I .at C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - Students’ book (page 8) - Clock - laptop, TV D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Watching a video about daily activities Retell names of daily activities Activity 2. Look, listen and repeat - Ask pupils the names of the characters and where they are: Linda and Tom - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. - Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play. - Ask Ss to role play before the class. - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - What time do you get up? + Six o’clock. Activity 3. Point and say - Ask Sts to look at the pictures given. - Play CD for sts listen and repeat all the actions given. - Read the words and have pupils read in chorus, individuals. - Explain the pattern:
- - What time do you .? I at ... - Ask pupils about what they get information to say. - Tell them that they are going to ask and act out friends in pictures to answer what time they do daily routines - Have pupils act out the characters to ask and answer using the model sentences - Call on all pairs to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give respond. Activity 4. Let’s talk - Ask them to read the questions given: What time is it? What time do you ..? - Model. Let sts distinguish the different between two questions - Ask pupils to answer the questions. - Have pupils talk about themselves about the time and the time they do daily activities Ex: Yesterday, I was at school. I had English, Maths and Vietnamese. - Monitor the activity, check the pronunciation (stress, assimilation of sounds and intonation), and offer help when necessary. - Call on some sts to perform the task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. Activity 5. Wrap – up - Have sts to tell what time they do something UNIT 11: WHAT TIME IS IT? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: Friday, January 7th 2022 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Pronounce the letter clusters oo in cook, book, noon, and school. - Listen and complete the sentences with cook, book, noon, and school. Then say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant: What time do you go to school? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: Listening, writing and speaking. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Save the time, in time. - Confident in learning and practice situations 4. Forming competence: - Communication and co-operation. - Problem solving and creativity B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary: revision

LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Answer the questions: (Play the game: Pass the ball) - What time do you get up? - What time do you go to school? - What time do you have dinner? - What time do you go to bed? - Give feedback Activity 2. Listen and repeat - Have pupils look at the poster with the content of part 1 (sts’ book – Page 10) - Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the sound /oo/ with different words. - Produce the sound /oo/ in cook, book, noon and school a few times. Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear the sound. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. - Give the notes how to pronoun /oo/ - Have stst prasctice saying the sound and words Activity 3. Listen and tick. Then write and say aloud - Have pupils look and read the uncompleted sentences given. - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen the 4 sentences and write the words they hear into blanks. - Play the recording twice pupils for listen and write. - Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer: Answer: 1- book 2- noon 3 – cook 4- school - Have pupils practice reading the completed sentences - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. Activity 4. Let’s chant: What time do you go to school? - Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 10 written on it on the board. - Tell pupils that they are going to chant. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. - Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Tell sts make a chant themselves
