  1. WEEK 12 Class 4C, 4D UNIT 7: WHAT DO YOU LIKE DOING? LESSON 3 (1 - 3) Time: Monday, November 29th 2021 A. OBJECTIVES By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Pronounce the initial letter clusters fl in flying, and pl in playing. - Listen and circle the correct letters showing the correct verb phrases filling the gapped sentences. Then say the completed sentences aloud. - Say the chant: Flying a little kite. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening & writing skills. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Confident when talking English - United friend 4. Forming competence: - Know how to practise some sounds - Practise in pairs B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Vocabulary: revision C. INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES - laptop, loudspeaker D. LEARNING PLAN Activity 1: Warm -up Memory - Call sts in teams to make sentences to say about some hobbies S1: I like singing S2: I like singing and dancing S3: I like singing, dancing and drawing - Give feedback Activity 2. Listen and repeat Have pupils turn to page 50 of their Student Books. - Tell them they are going to learn how to pronoun the sounds /fl/, and /pl/ in the words flying, playing - Produce the sound /fl/, and /pl/ a few times. Ask pupils to say what they think about when they hear these sounds. - Play the recording again for the whole class to repeat each line in the speech bubbles to reinforce their pronunciation. - Ask sts to find some more words with the sounds /fl/, /pl/ Ex: fl: floor, flat, fly, flu Pl: plane, plant, plum . Activity 3. Listen and circle. Then write and say aloud
  2. - Have pupils look the sentences and given. - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 4 dialoges and circles the phrases they hear to complete the 4 sentences - Play the recording twice pupils to listen and circle. - Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T gives the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1- b 2- a 3 – b 4 - a Activity 4. Let’s chant: Flying a little kite - Put the piece of paper with the chant from Page 50 written on it on the board. - Tell pupils that they are going to chant. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen as they read. Clap the syllables. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat each line of the chant and clap the syllables. - Call on some pupils to perform the chant at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments if possible. Activity 5. Wrap -up - Summary the lesson - Do exercises E in workbook UNIT 7: WHAT DO YOU LIKE DOING? LESSON 1. 3 + LESSON 3 (4 + 5) Time: Wednesday, December 1st 2021 A. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge - Listen and tick the hobby activities - Read Mai’s letter to her pen friend and complete about Mai’s information. - Write a letter to reply Mai about personal information and hobby. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills: listening, reading and writing 3. Attitudes/ Quality - To help Ss know how to talk about their hobbies 4. Forming competence - Communication - Self- study - Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks - Present in front of the class B. LANGUAGE FOCUS - Sentence Patterns: My name is . I like I don’t like .

How old are you? 3. What do you like doing? Activity 2. Listen and tick - Have pupils look the pictures with the activities in each number - Get sts say aloud - Tell the pupils that they are going to listen 3 dialoges and tick the correct activities - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and choose the correct answers. - Compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again pupils check their answers. - T gives the answer: - Have pupils act out the dialogues in pairs or groups for correction. - Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text. * Answer: 1- b ; 2 - c ; 3- a Activity 3. Read and complete - Have pupils turn their books to Page 51 - Tell pupils that they are going to read Mai’s email to get the information. - Pupils read the passage individually - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to act out Mai to answer the following questions: 1. How old is Mai? 2. What does she like doing? 3. What doesn’t she like doing? 4. What does she want? - After answering the questions, have sts look at the card and the passage to complete the information. - Sts do the task - Get the answer from sts - Give feedback * Answer key: 1. nine 2. collecting stamps 3. taking photos 4. playing chess 5. a penfriend Activity 4. Add your photo and write a reply email to Mai - Have pupils discuss about the content to write: information to reply Mai’s email - Get sts’ ideas - Give feedback and contribute - Pupils write individually. - Monitor the activity, and offer help when necessary. - Call on some pupils to write on the board and other pupils write in the notebooks in individuals.
