  1. WEEK 19 TIẾNG ANH KHỐI 1 Time: Monday, Thursday and Friday (8th , 11th and 12th of January) UNIT 9 : IN THE SHOP Lesson 1 I. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + Remember and say some new words: locks, clocks, pots,mops. + Pronounce the sound of the letter: O/o 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: locks, clocks, pots,mops. - Sound: /o/ 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Quality /Attitude: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love something in the shop. 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: -Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play -Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information -Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and guessing words/phrases -Creative competence, linguistic competence: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, Textbook, computer, projector, pictures, recording III. METHODS: - Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method. IV. PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Activity 1:Warm up:5’ *Aim:help ss to be eager and happy to begin the new lesson. *Procedure: * Have ss to play game: rub out and - SS play game. remember. Activity 2. Listen and repeat:13’
  2. *Aim: help Ss to pronounce the sound of the letter O/o and remember and say some new words: locks, clocks, pots,mops. *Procedure: -Look at the picture and listen. - Have Ss look at the picture and draw Ss’ attention to the letter O/o , the word next to locks and other words next to the things and the colour of the letter O/o. -Point, listen and repeat. -Ask Ss to point to the letter O/o .Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter -Ss repeat. O/o more than once, if necessary. -Tell Ss to point to locks and the word locks .Ask them to listen and repeat the word. -Ss listen and repeat. -Repeat the same procedure with: clocks, pots,mops. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. -SS listen, point and repeat. -Play the recording again and have them listen, point to the letter O/o and the ball, bike and book and repeat until they feel confident. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. -SS say in front of the class. -Play the recording again and call some Ss to say the letter O/o and the words locks,clocks, pots,mops.in front of the class. *Outcome: pronounce the sound of the letter O/o and remember and say some new words: locks, clocks, pots,mops. Activity 3. Point and say:14’ *Aim: help Ss to practise pronouncing the sound of the letter O/o and remember and say some new words: locks, clocks, pots,mops. -Look at the picture and *Procedure: discribe. - Have Ss look at the picture again and ask them to describe the picture again (in Vietnamese). Draw their attention to the letter O/o, locks and the things, if necessary.
  3. -Point and say -SS do the action. - Get them to point to the letter O/o and say it. Let them point to locks and say. - Give further support to those Ss who find -Work in pairs or in groups. it difficult to do the task. - Follow the same procedure with other things. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. -Point and say - Ask Ss to work in pairs or in groups to point to the picture and say the sound of the letter O/o and the words. Go around and offer help or correct pronunciation, if necessary. -Invite two or three Ss to point to the picture and say the sound of the letter and the words in front of the class. -SS listen. - T gets feedback. *Outcome: practise pronouncing the sound of the letter O/o and remember and say -SS listen and take note. some new words: locks, clocks, pots,mops. Activity 4.Consolidation(2’) - Asking Ps to focus on sounds and vocabulary again. Activity 5.Homelink (1’) Practice more at home. - Prepare new lesson.
