- WEEK 13 TIẾNG ANH KHỐI 1 Time: Monday, Thursday and Friday ( 27th, 30th of November, 1st of December) UNIT 7: IN THE GARDEN Lesson 1 + 2 I. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + Remember and say some new words: girl, goat, gate, garden. + Pronounce the sound of the letter: G/g + Say the letter G/g and the words girl, goat, gate, garden. + Listen and identify the words girl, goat, gate, garden + Trace the letter G/g. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: girl, goat, gate, garden. - Sound: /g/ 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Quality /Attitude: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love something in the garden 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: -Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play -Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information -Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and guessing words/phrases -Creative competence, linguistic competence: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, Textbook, computer, projector, pictures, recording III. METHODS: - Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method. IV. PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Activity 1:Warm up:5’ *Aim:help ss to be eager and happy to begin the new lesson. *Procedure:
- - Have one group of Ss play the game Slap - SS play game. the board Activity 2. Listen and repeat:13’ *Aim: help Ss to pronounce the sound of the letter G/g and remember and say some new words: girl, goat, gate, garden. *Procedure: - Have Ss look at the picture and diescribe it, -Look at the picture and listen. saying Look at the picture and describe it, please! Draw Ss’ attention to the words next to the things/ people/ animal and the colour of the letter G/g. Check comprehension. -Ask Ss to point to the letter G/g, saying -Point, listen and repeat. Point to the letter G/g, please! Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter G/g, saying Listen and repeat, please! more than once, if necessary. -Tell ss to point to the girl/the word pencil, saying Point to the girl/the word “girl”. Ask -Ss listen and repeat. them to listen and repeat the word, saying Listen and repeat, please! Then play the recording again, if necessary, for Ss to do choral and individual repetition. Correct pronunciation if necessary. -Follow the same procedure with the words -SS listen, point and repeat. goat, gate, garden. - -Have Ss look at the picture or Poster for Unit -Look at the picture and 7 again. Ask them to describe the picture. discribe. Listen and chant:10’ *Aim: help Ss to read the chant with some words: girl, goat, gate, garden. *Procedure: - Have Ss look at the chant in their books Draw Ss’ attention to the first verse and explain its meaning .Ask them to pay -SS look and listen. attention to the letter G/g and the words

Show them how to chant and clap hands. -Ss listen and repeat. -Play the recording all the way through again for Ss to listen and do choral and individual -Ss chant and clap. repetition, Then play the recording for them to listen and repeat until they feel confident. -Put the class into two groups to practise -SS chant in front of the class. chanting and clapping. Each group should sing one verse of the chant. - Encourage some Ss to go to the front of the class to chant and clap their hands. The rest of the class may clap along to the rhythm. If they chanted well. *Outcome: read the chant with some words: girl, goat, gate, garden. Activity 5. Listen and tick :7’ *Aim: help Ss to improve listening skill with some words girl, goat, gate, garden. -SS look and listen. *Procedure: - Have Ss look at the pictures: What is this? It’s a garden and what is this? It’s a gate. and ask them to repeat, saying It’s a garden. It’s a gate. Draw Ss’ attention to the boxes next to the letters a and b. Check comprehension. - SS point and say.

Activity 6. Look and trace.10’ - SS look and listen. *Aim: help Ss to look and trace with the sound of the letter G/g *Procedure: - Have Ss look at the letter G (upper case) and g (lower case). Ask Ss to make sure if they recognize the two forms of the letter. -SS trace. - Tell Ss to trace the letter G/g. T can demonstrate by air tracing or tracing the broken lines of the letter G/g. on the board. -SS check. -Then let Ss do the tracing. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. -SS show. - Check the results of Ss’ tracing and give feedback. Ask Ss to work in pairs and swap their answers. Give Ss time to work. Go around and offer help, if necessary. - Ask some Ss to show what they have done. -SS listen. - With a better class, write the letter G/g. in broken lines on the board and invite some Ss to trace them. -SS listen and take Consolidation(2’) -SS listen. - Asking Ps to focus on sounds and vocabulary again.
