- WEEK 12 TIẾNG ANH KHỐI 1 Time: Monday, Thursday and Friday ( 20th, 23rd, 24th of November) UNIT 6: IN THE CLASSROOM Lesson 3 I. OBJECTIVES - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: - Use It’s a red _____ to introduce a thing. - Sing a song with the structures I have a ___./ He has a ___ - It’s red. It’s a red _____. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: pen, pencil, bell, red - Sound: /e/ -Sentence pattern: I have a ___./ He has a ___. It’s red. It’s a red _____. 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Quality /Attitude: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love something in the classroom. 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: -Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play -Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information -Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and guessing words/phrases -Creative competence, linguistic competence: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, Textbook, computer, projector, pictures, recording III. METHODS: - Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method. IV. PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Activity 1. Warm up:5’ *Aim:help ss to be eager and happy to begin the new lesson. *Procedure:
- - Have a few pupil to point to the picture on - SS point and say. Poster of Unit 6 and say the sentences, e.g. I have a red ___. Activity 2. Listen and repeat:10’ *Aim: help Ss to practise sentence pattern: It’s a red _____. *Procedure: -SS look and listen. -Have Ss look at the picture, saying Look at the picture, please! What can you see? I can see a boy. I can see a pen. Yes. It’s a red pen. Explain the meaning of the sentence and how it is used. Check comprehension. -Listen and repeat. -Play the recording several times for Ss to listen and repeat the sentence. Give more support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. -SS point and say. - Have Ss point to the dog and say the sentence in pairs or groups, saying Point to the pen and say, please! It’s a red pen. Go around and offer help, if necessary. -Ss repeat. - Invite a few Ss to listen and repeat the sentence “It’s a red pen.” in front of the class. Correct their pronunciation, if necessary . *Outcome: practise sentence pattern: It’s a red _____. Activity 3. Let’s talk :7’ *Aim: help Ss to improve speaking skill with sentence pattern: It’s a red _____.. *Procedure: -Ss look and listen. - Have Ss look at the picture in Student’s book . Point to the pen and ask them What is this? The Ss may answer a pen. Ask them What colour is it? Is it red? and give the answer Yes. It’s red. It’s a red pen. -Point to Picture a and model, using the -SS model. expression in the bubble and the word in the picture. E.g. “It’s a red pen.” -Ask Ss to point to Picture a and say the -SS point and say.
