- WEEK 31 Monday, April 17th 2023 UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? Lesson 1 (4, 5, 6) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer about which place someone would like to visit. - Listen, and circle the letters showing the correct words to answer the questions. - Read and fill the gapped conversation, using the words provided. - Sing the song which place would you like to visit? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary:The song lyrics 2. Skills. - Develop listening, reading and speaking skill 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love friends, love my country and hometown. - Know more places in hometown, in country. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about the places in Nam’s country. B. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... C. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: student’s and teacher’s book, pictures, cassette, puppets. D. Procedures. I. Warm up: Answer - Which place would you like to visit, .or ..? + I’d like to visit II. New lesson: 1. Listen and circle a or b: - Have pupils read the questions and answers given - Tell sts that they are going to the recording and circle the words to complete the sentences. - Play CD all the way through for them to listen - Play again for them to circle the words - Have sts swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Then ask the class to say the sentences aloud
- - Give feedback *Key: 1. b 2. a 3. a 2. Read and complete: - Tell sts that they are going to complete the dialogue with the 5 words given. - Give sts few seconds to read the dialogue in silence. - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary - Get sts to work in pairs. - Get sts to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud the dialogue * Key: 1. somewhere 2. would 3. park 4. museum 5. centre - Have sts read aloud the passage 3. Let’s sing: - Show the song “Which place would you like to visit” - Have sts look at the pictures and give some ideas - Read the lyrics - Check comprehension - Play the recording the song all the way through - Have sts repeat each line of the lyrics a few times - Have sts sing along - Have sts practice singing and acting in groups - Call some groups sing aloud and do actions III. Reinforcement: - Have sts retell what they would like - Give feedback. UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? Lesson 2 (1, 2, 3) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about the other speaker’s opinions about a place. - Sentence Patterns: What do you think of ___? − It’s more ___ than I expected. - Vocabulary: Ha Long Bay, attractive / Dam Sen Park, exciting / Thu Le Zoo, interesting / Phu Quoc Island, beautiful. 2. Skills. - Develop listening, reading and speaking skill 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love friends, hometown. - Show pride of our country. 4. Forming competence:

Look, listen and repeat: - Introduce the dialogue. - The class listen - Look at the pictures in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions . - Play the recording - Sts Listen follow in their book. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Read in pairs: One repeats Linda’s part, the other repeats Tom’s part - Elicit the model sentences: What do you think of Tran Quoc Pagoda? It’s more beautiful than I expected. 2. Point and say - Teach vocabulary: attractive, exciting, interesting - Elicits the structure - Ss give new sentence: What do you think of ? It’s more . than I expected. - Look and find out the model sentences. - Point the pictures & practise asking & answering questions given - Model sentence. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary - 2 - 3 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. - The rest of the class observe and give comments. 3. Let’s Talk - Give tasks. - Have sts ask and answer questions about a place and opinions about it Where did you go .? I went to ..
- What do you think of ..? It’s more .. than I expected. - Ss work in pairs to ask and answer about themselves. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Correct their pronunciation and mistake - 6-7 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. III. Reinforcement: - Summary the lesson Wednesday, April 19th 2023 UNIT 19: WHICH PLACE WOULD YOU LIKE TO VISIT? Lesson 2 (4, 5, 6) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer about which place someone would like to visit. - Read, listen, and circle the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped sentences. - Read and fill the gapped conversation, using the words provided. - Play the game Tic-tac-toe. - Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Develop listening, reading and speaking skill 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love friends, hometown. - Show pride of our country. 4. Knowledge: - Say the sentences with the correct intonation. - Read, listen and mark the sentence intonation ( or ). Then say the sentences aloud. - Say the chant: What do you think of it? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Develop listening, reading and speaking skill 3. Attitude/ Quality:
- - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Love friends, hometown. - Show pride of our country. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about the places in Nam’s country. Listen and repeat: - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences intonation - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence intonation a few times. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - give feedback 2. Listen and mark the sentence intonation. Then say the sentences aloud: - Have pupils lool at the questions and answers given - Tell sts that they are going to the recording and remark the sentence intonation of each sentence. - Play CD all the way through for them to listen - Play again for them to remark - Have sts swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Then ask the class to say the sentences aloud - Give feedback 3. Let’s chant - Show the chant “What do you think of it” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (Which place? How?) - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands.
- - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation III. Wrap-up - Ask sts make out some more sentences and read with the right intonation - Practice chanting.
