  1. WEEK 24 Monday, February 27th 2023 UNIT 15: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE FUTURE? Lesson 1 (1, 2, 3) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer about what someone would like to be in the future.Pupils can ask and answer questions about what the other speaker would like to be in the future - Sentence Patterns: What would you like to be in the future? – I’d like to be a / an - Vocabulary: pilot, doctor, architect, writer 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Believe in yourself and go for your dream. - Love themselves. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about what someone would like to be in the future. B. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... C. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. D. Procedures. I. Warm up: Network Teacher doctor Jobs II. New lesson: 1. Look, listen and repeat. - Introduce the dialogue. - Look at the pictures to identify the characters (Tony, Mai ) and the context in the book guess what the story is about and point at each picture to elicit their answers to these questions. - Play the recording - Listen follow in their book.
  2. - Ss listen and repeat in chorus two times. - Read in group/ pair: One repeats Tony’s part, the other repeats Mai’s part . - Elicits the structure - Ss give new structure sentence: What would you like to be in the future? I’d like to be a/an ... 2. Point and say: - Teach vocabulary: - Note write down new words and read after T. Play game: What and where ( Whole class) - Say phrases under the pictures. - Teach the future simlpe forms of verb. - Model sentence. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Look and find out the model sentences. - Point the pictures and practise asking and answering question What would you like to be in the future? I’d like to be a/an ... Using the prompts under the pictures. - 2 - 3 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. 3. Let’s Talk: - Give tasks. - Talking about what someone would like to be in the future, using What would you like to be in the future? I’d like to be a/an ... - Ss work in pairs. - Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary. - Pupils practise answering the questions with information about themselves. - 6-7 pairs perform their task at the front of the class. The rest of the class observe and give comments. - Correct their pronunciation and mistake III. Wrap-up: - Summary the lesson - Learn by heart the new words. UNIT 15: WHAT’S WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE FUTURE? Lesson 1 (4, 5, 6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer about what someone would like to be in the future. - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Read and fill the gapped exchanges, using the pictures. - Sing the song: What would you like to be in the future?
  3. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: The song lyrics 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Believe in yourself and go for your dream. - Love themselves. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about what someone would like to be in the future. II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... Warm up: Answer - What would you like to be in the future? + I ‘d like to be a/an . II. New lesson: 1. Listen and tick - Have sts to look at 3 groups of pictures with jobs - Elicit the names of jobs - Give instruction. - Play the recording twice for pupils listen and tick the correct pictures - Ask sts to compare the answers with the partner. - Play the recording again for sts to check their answers. - Announce the answers. - Ask some questions to ensure sts’ comprehension of the listening text. *Key: 1. b 2. a 3. c 2. Look and write: - Tell sts that they are going to look at the pictures with the questions given then write the answers - Give sts few seconds to read the questions and think about the names of the jobs in the pictures in silence. - Have sts write the answer individually - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary
  4. - Get sts to work in pairs. - Get sts to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. * Key: 1. like to be a teacher 2. like to be adoctor. 3. like to be architects. - Call 4 pairs read aloud the dialogue 3. Let’s sing: - Show the song “What would you like to be in the future?” - Have sts look at the pictures and give some ideas - Read the lyrics - Check comprehension - Play the recording the song all the way through - Have sts repeat each line of the lyrics a few times - Have sts sing along - Have sts practice singing and acting in groups - Call some groups sing aloud and do actions III. Wrap-up: - Have sts retell what they would like to be in the future - Give feedback Wednesday, March 1st 2023 UNIT 15: WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE IN THE FUTURE? Lesson 2 (1, 2, 3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask for and give reasons for having a future job. - Sentence Patterns: Why would you like to be ___? − Because I’d like to ___. - Vocabulary: a nurse, look after patients / a writer, write stories for children / a pilot, fly a plane / an architect, design buildings 2. Skills. - Listening, speaking and reading. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Believe in yourself and go for your dream. - Love themselves. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about what someone would like to be in the future.

Knowledge: - Ask and answer about what someone would like to be in the future. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words completing sentences. - Read and fill a gapped conversation, using the words provided. - Play the game: Pelmanism. - Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Listening, writing and reading. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - Believe in yourself and go for your dream. - Love themselves. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about what someone would like to be in the future. II.
