  1. WEEK 23 Monday, February 20th 2023 UNIT 14: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE STORY? Lesson 2 (1-2-3) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about someone’s opinions of a book/ story/ character - Sentence Patterns: What do you think of ___? − I think ___. - Vocabulary: the mouse, intelligent / An Tiem, hard-working / the older brother, greedy / Snow White, kind 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be a good man. - Love reading books 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). B. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... C. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. D. Procedures. I. Look, listen and repeat: - Set the scene: - Elicit the context of the picture - Have sts look at the pictures and guess the name of the story - Check comprehension by pointing at each picture to elicit the content for each picture - Play CD for sts listen and follow in their books - Play again – sts repeat

Point and say: - Have pupils look at pictures with names of characters and their charactistics - Run through and explain the key words: Intelligent, hard- working, greedy, kind - Model (a) - What do you think of the mouse? + I think It’s intelligent - Have sts to repeat the sentences a few times. - Ask sts work in pairs to practice asking and answering base on the model. - Call some pairs say aloud in front of the class. - Check sts’ mistake when necessary. - Make a few questions to check pupils’ comprehension of the language. - Have the whole class repeat all the phrases in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation. 3. Let’s talk. - Have stst read aloud 2 questions given - Tell the class that they are going to practice further by asking and answering questions about a book, a story or a character - Run through. - Give instruction. - Model: A: What kind of stories do you like? B: I like Snow White and seven dwarves A: What do you think of Snow White? B: I thinkshe’s kind.. - Give sts 5 mins for sts practice - Get sts to work in groups of three to interact. - Call a few pairs to practise in front of the class. - Check ss’ pronunciation. III. Wrap-up - Ask sts to talk aloud their task - Practice speaking at home.

Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about someone’s opinions of a book/ story/ character - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Write about their favourite book, using the guiding questions. - Play the game Storytelling. - Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Be a good man. - Love reading books 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). B. Methods: Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... Lesson 3 (1-2-3) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Give intonation correctly when tell about the story. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words completing the sentences. - Listen to the story The Fox and the Crow. - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Develop listening and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Love reading books and be a good man 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (Ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant.   6. - Practice listening and acting the story UNIT 14: WHAT HAPPENED IN THE STORY? Lesson 3 (4-5-6) A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Give intonation correctly when tell about the story. - Read the paragraph, and write the answers to the questions. - Write about the characters in their favourite story. - Tell a story and say what they think of the characters, using the writing frame. - Colour the stars showing their English competences. 2. Skills. - Develop writing, speaking and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Love reading books 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (Ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. Read and write: - Show the passage and elicit the content - Give instruction. - Have sts read the text to get information and then write the answers for questions given - Have sts do the task individually - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs to check the answer - Call on some sts to report their answers. - Key: 1. She likes reading folk tales. 2. She thinks they’re usually short and interesting.
  7. 3. She thinks the characters are sometimes honest, greedy, wise, stupid. 4. She thinks the fox was clever and the crow was not. 5. Because each of them gives her a lesson in life. 2. Write about the characters in your favourite story: - Have sts read the beginning phrases for sentences - Have them give ideas about information of stories that they like - Get some sts answer aloud - Checking understanding how to write - Have sts write in 5 mins - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their writing task - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct * Suggested answer: My favourite story is The fox and the crow. The main characters are the fox and the crow. I like the fox because it’s intelligent. 3. Project Tell a story and say what you think of the characters - Have sts work in groups, one member tells a story and talk about characters - Set the time for Sts do the task - Go around and check their work - Comment - Call one st retell in front of the class III.
