  1. WEEK 19 Monday, January 9th 2023 Unit 11: What’s the matter with you? Lesson 3 (1-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about health problems. - Say the questions and the answers with the correct intonation. What’s the matter with you? ̶ I have a headache. What’s the matter with you? ̶ I have a toothache. What’s the matter with you? ̶ I have a stomach ache. - Listen and circle the letters showing the correct words completing the answers. Then ask and answer the questions. - Say the chant: What’s the matter with you? - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision 2. Skills. - Listening and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to keep healthy. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Using language to talk about possible accident at home, using Don’t ...! OK, I won’t. II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... III. Preparation. 1. Teacher’s preparation: CDs player, stereo, book. 2. Student’s preparation: Students’ aids: books, notebooks, workbooks. IV. Procedures. I. Listen and repeat: - Have sts to look at the overhead’s screen, draw their attention to the sentences intonation - Play CD for sts listen - Have sts repeat the focused on the sentence intonation a few times.
  2. - Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors. - Call on someone to read aloud. - give feedback 2. Let’s chant - Show the chant “What’s the matter with you?” - Have sts run through the sentences - Ask sts read aloud - Check comprehension (What’s the matter with you? What should you do?) - Ask sts to read aloud each line in the chant and clap their hands. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice the chant in groups. - Call each group perform. - Correct and comment - Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation III. Wrap-up - Ask sts make out some more sentences and read with the right intonation - Practice chanting. UNIT 11: WHAT’S THE MATTER WITH YOU? Lesson 3 (4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ask and answer questions about healthy problem. - Read and match two halves of each sentence. Then say the complete sentence. - Read the common health problems, and write advice. - Talk about two health problems and give advice. - Colour the stars showing their English competences. 2. Skills.
  3. - Listening, reading, writing and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to keep healthy. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study (can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities, play as a character, teaching methods with game, teaching methods by visual, teaching methods by practising, discussion group, technical present.... Warm up: Miming - Divide class into six groups to role play a kind of disease. Using the sentence “What’s the matter with you?” and give advisement. - Comment. II. New lesson: 1. Read and match. Then say - Ask sts to look at two columns with words and phrases given - Give instruction. - Explain what they have to do: read and match the words with phrases correctly - Have sts do the task in pairs - Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary. - Ask sts to work in pairs to check the answer - Call on some sts to report their answers. * Key: 1 - b; 2 - d; 3 - e; 4 – a; 5 – c; 6- b 2. Write your advice: - Have sts read the common health problems they have - Checking understanding how to give advice - Give sts some questions, ask them to give advices: + What can you advice Tony when he has a bad toothache? - Have sts work in pairs to act and give the advice - Have sts write in 5 mins individually - Remind sts how to write in correct way - Go around to help - Get sts swap and read their writing in pairs - Invite two or three sts to read their answers aloud
  4. - Get sts give feedback - Check and correct *Suggested answers: 1. should brush teeth after meals/ shouldn’t eat too many sweets. 2. should keep warm/ shouldn’t go out 3. should eat healthy food/ shouldn’t talk too much and eat ice cream. 3. Project: Talk about two health problems and give advice - Have sts work in pairs to give the health problems and give advices - Model - Have sts talk - Go around and check their work - Comment III. Wrap-up: Colour the stars - Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension - Invite sts to read statements aloud - Check their understanding the meaning - Sts colour stars base on the degree that they got from Unit 11 - Getting their ideas about difficulties to help Wednesday, January 11th 2023 UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST? Lesson 1 (1-2-3) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Ss Say questions and answers with the correct intonation. - Ss look after, solve problems and study themselves. - Pupils can express and respond to concerns about possible accidents at home. - Sentence Patterns: Don’t ____! – OK, I won’t. - Vocabulary: play with matches, ride your bike too fast, climb the tree, run down the stairs 2. Skills. - Develop listening, speaking and reading skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to keep safe and prevent accidents. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (Ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study ( can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. What’s she doing with the stove? -Tell them that they are going to hear Mary and Tom talking about possible accidents - Explain the meaning of the language practised. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books. - Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times. - Some Ss role play and the others comment. - Ask Ss to role play - Ask Ss to role play before the class. - Elicit the model sentences: Don’t play with with the knife. Ok. 2. Point and say: - Tell stst that they are going to practice expressing and responding to concerns about possible accidents at home - Pre- teach vocab: matches (visuals) climb (mime) - Have them look at the pictures and repeat the phrases once or twice - Point at each picture and have sts practice saying sentences with Don’t , using the information under each picture - Get them to practice in pairs - Explain the pattern: - Run through the key words/ phrases

Wrap-up: - Have sts retell the content of the lesson. UNIT 12: DON’T RIDE YOUR BIKE TOO FAST? Lesson 1 (4-5-6) I. Objectives: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Say questions and answers with the correct intonation. - Look after, solve problems and study themselves. - Listen and tick the correct pictures. - Read and fill the gapped paragraph, using the words provided. - Sing the song: Don’t do that! - Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: The song lyrics 2. Skills. - Develop listening and reading, speaking skill. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends. - Educate Ss how to keep safe and prevent accidents. 4. Forming competence: - Co-operation (Ready to help friends in pair work/ groupwork). - Self-study ( can perform individual tasks and solve problems by themselves). - Use language to talk about the listening task and read the chant. Read and complete: - Tell sts that they are going to complete the passage with the 5 words given. - Give sts few seconds to read the passage in silence. - Check comprehension and give feedback. - Give sts time to do the task and go around and offer help if necessary - Get sts to work in pairs. - Get sts to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. - Divide the class into two groups and get them to read aloud the dialogue * Key: 1. room 2. cooking 3. answered 4. run 5. won’t - Have sts read aloud the passage 3.
