  1. WEEK 14 Tuesday, December 6th 2022 CLASS 3C, 3B (3A on Wednesday) UNIT 8: MY SCHOOL THINGS Lesson 2 (4-6) I. Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - listen to and understand four communicative contexts in which pupils ask and answer questions about having a school thing. - read and match four simple exchanges with the correct pictures 2. Skills. - Listening and reading. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. 4. Forming competence: - Self-study ability, ability to operate, live responsibly. - Using language to give classroom instructions. II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities. III. Preparation. - Student’s book Page 59 - Website sachmem.vn - Flash cards/ pictures and posters. IV. Procedure. * Warm up. Sing the song School things of Unit 8, page 57. - Ask pupils to sing the song. - Invite some of them to come to the board to role play and do action, the rest of the pupils will sing Activity 4. Listen and number - Elicit the words for the school thing in each picture. Play the recording twice so that pupils can do the task. Play the recording a third time to give pupils another listening opportunity and check their answers. - Tell pupils to swap books with a partner, and check answers together as a class. - Write the answers on the board for pupils to correct their answers. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to double-check all the answers. If two cards match, they are left turned face up and the player scores one point. - If they do not match, they are returned to their face down layout and the turn passes to the next player. *Option: Teacher asks pupils to put out their school things on the desk. - Ask them to show the school things in the correct order. (example: Show me: pencil, eraser, pen). Activity 7: Wrap-up and Assignments. - Practice reading Part 5. - Remind students to do exercises in the workbook and to prepare for the next lesson Unit 8. Tuesday, December 6th 2022 CLASS 3C (3A on Wednesday, 3B on Thursday) UNIT 8: MY SCHOOL THINGS Lesson 3 (1.2.3) I.Objectives. By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - correctly repeat the sounds of the letter cluster oo and letter a in isolation, in the words book and eraser, and in the sentences I have a book. and Do you have an eraser? with correct pronunciation and intonation - identify the target words book and eraser while listening - say the chant with the correct rhythm and pronunciation. 2. Procedures. *Warm up: - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by dividing the class into two groups. - Show a few picture cards of school things, one by one. Listen and repeat. - Draw pupils’ attention to the letter cluster oo, the word book and the sentence I have a book. Play the recording for pupils to listen and repeat. Let the pupils listen to the recording, then choose the correct moving shapes. Activity 2. Listen and circle. - Draw pupils’ attention to the sentences and the gap-fill options. Tell them about the activity. Check their comprehension and give feedback. - Play the recording for for pupils to listen. Play the recording again for them to listen and circle the correct option. Play the recording a third time for pupils to check their answers. - Tell pupils to swap books with a partner, then check the answers together as a class. - Write the correct answers on the board. Play the recording for pupils to check their answers again. Key: 1. b 2. c Activity 3. Let’s chant. - Play the recording all the way through so that pupils can listen to the whole chant. Encourage them to listen carefully to the rhythm and pronunciation. - Draw their attention to the sounds of the letter cluster oo and letter a in the words book and eraser in the chant. - Play the recording line by line for pupils to listen and repeat. Correct their pronunciation where necessary. - Play the recording all the way through for pupils to say the chant. Encourage them to clap along while they chant. Game: Show me! - Divide the class into four groups. Ask pupils to say the chant again, then show their school things as they say the chant. - T can change the name of school things for pupils to chant and show

Objectives. - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - read and complete a gapped paragraph with the words provided - read, understand and complete the writing frame with pupils’ information - collect three school things from home and bring them to the classroom to present to their classmates. 2. Skills. - Writing and reading. 3. Attitudes/ Quality: - Be confident in communicating with friends/ teachers. - talking about school things. 4. Forming competence: - Self-study ability, ability to operate, live responsibly. - talk to each other, say good words to others . II. Methods: - Communicative approach, group Ss and T's activities. III. Preparation. - Student’s book Page 61 - Website sachmem.vn - Flashcards/pictures and posters (Unit 8) Computer, projector IV. Procedure * Warm up. Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by having the class say the chant on page 60. Activity 4. Read and complete - Elicit the missing word for the first gap (have). Then tell pupils to pay attention to the article a / an to select appropriate nouns in the box for the next two gaps. - Give pupils time to do the rest individually or in pairs. - Tell pupils to swap their answers with a partner.

Knowledge: - use the words blue, brown, red, yellow related to the topic “colours”; - use What colour is it? – It’s _______ to ask and answer questions about colours of school things; 2.Skills: Speaking and listening . 3. What's in the box? - School things including: a pen, a pencil, a ruler, an eraser. - Teacher invites one pupil to the front. -Teacher shows a word card and has the rest of the class say the word. -The pupil in the front listens to the word and finds the object from the mystery box. Activity 1. Look, listen and repeat - the picture. Play the audio of the conversation between Mary and Minh. Do the same with the other picture. - Let pupils listen and do choral and individual repetition, sentence by sentence, while pointing to the characters speaking. - Play the recording again for pupils to listen and repeat in chorus sentence by sentence. - Invite a few pairs to the front of the class to listen and repeat the sentences in the recording. Activity 2. Listen, point and say -Have pupils look at the pictures and elicit the names of the school things. Have the class repeat the words a few times. - Have pupils point at Picture a (yellow pencil), listen to the recording and repeat the word (yellow). - Point at the bubble What colour is It? and have pupils listen and repeat after the recording. Let’s talk - Give pupils time to practise asking and answering the question What colour is It? – It’s______. in pairs. - Circulate round the classroom and offer help or correct the pronunciation where necessary. - Invite a few pairs to practise asking and answering questions about the colours of the school things on the desk in front of the class. Game: Memory Game Divide the class into 2 teams (team 1 and team 2). - Each team prepares a set of school things with different colours and takes turns to bring to the front and shows them to the class. - The other team has 30 seconds to look at the objects and remember their colours. - The pupils in the front hide the objects and secretly pick one each.
  7. - Pupils in the other team guess the secret object by asking: What colour is it? - In 10 seconds, if the other team can guess the object correctly, they get points.
