- WEEK 27 GRADE 2 Time: Tuesday, March 19th 2024 UNIT 3: AT THE SEASIDE Lesson 1 I/ Objectives: 1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to : - Pronounce correctly pronounce the name of letter S/s and the sound /s/ in isolation. - Say correctly the words : sea, sail, sand 2. Competencies: 2.1. Generic competencies: - Communication and cooperation competence: read and complete the sentences, work in pairs/groups. - Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information - Autonomy and self-learning: remembering, recalling and guessing words/ phrases - Problem –solving and creativity: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. 2.2. Language competence: - Sound /s/ - Vocabulary: sea, sail, sand - Skills: Integrated skills (speaking and listening) 3. Attitude / Qualities: Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students, love learning English II/ Teaching aids: 1.Teacher: Pictures, words cards, worksheets, flashcards, objects, recording, computer, projector. 2.Students: Tieng Anh 2 students’ books, pens, pencils, crayons, notebooks. III/ Procedure: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities 1.Warm- up: 5’ Game: Guessing game *Aims: to help ss review some vocabulary that they learnt. *Teaching techniques - grouping, miming, ask and answer. *Procedure: -Have ss to look through 3 pictures( which is closed). Listen and repeat: 10’ *Aims: to correctly pronounce the name of letter S/s and the sound / s/ both in isolation and in the words sea, sail, sand *Context: The picture shows the seaside with sea, sail, sand *Teaching techniques - techniques in teaching listening and speaking, individual, pairworks, ask and answer - using flashcardas, recording, pictures *Procedure: - Have ss look at the picture and draw ss’ attention to the letter S/s , the words next to the things and the -Look at the picture and colour of the letter S/s listen. -Ask ss to point to the letter S/s Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter S/s more than -Point, listen and repeat. once, if necessary. -Tell ss to point to sea . Explain that team -Ss look and listen. members should take it in turns to turn over two card. Do the word and the picture match. If they do match, the team members scores one point. If they don not match, member should turn both cards face down again. - Have time for ss to play game. -Ss play game. -The first team to match all the words and pictures wins *Outcome: Ss can match and successfully recall the position of target words and pictures while playing game.
- 3. Consolidation :2’ *Aims: to consolidate and wrap up the content of the lesson. - T tells ss about the main content of the lesson. - T tells ss about the educational Aimss of the -Ss listen. lessons. 4. Homelink .1’ - Practice more at home. - Prepare for the next lesson.
