- WEEK 33 TIẾNG ANH 1A Time: Saturday, May 4th 2024 UNIT 16 : AT HOME Lesson 1 I. OBJECTIVES: - By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: + Remember and say some new words: washing, water, Wendy and window. + Pronounce the sound of the letter: W/w. 1. Knowledge/ Language focus: - Vocabulary: washing, water, Wendy and window. - Sound: /w/ 2. Skills: - Listening and speaking. 3. Quality /Attitude: -Actively participate in activities with their classmates in pairs, groups or class. Educate Ss to become studious and obedient students; love something at home 4. Competences: SS can develop some competences: -Comunicative and collaborative competence: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play: work in pairs/groups, role play -Problem-solving competence: observing, collecting and analyzing information -Self studying and self - control competence: remembering, recalling and guessing words/phrases -Creative competence, linguistic competence: giving ideas, changing information, giving comments, critical thinking. II. TEACHING AIDS / MATERIALS: - Pictures, Textbook, computer, projector, pictures, recording III. METHODS: - Communicative language teaching, contextual teaching and learning, total physical response, games activities teaching, Model-Action-Talk, teaching methods by visual, direction method, audiolingual method. IV. PROCEDURE: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Activity 1:Warm up:5’ *Aim:help ss to be eager and happy to begin the new lesson. *Procedure: - Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by asking the class to sing the song in - SS review. Unit 15, Lesson 3. Activity 2. Listen and repeat:13’
- *Aim: help Ss to pronounce the sound of the letter W/w and remember and say some new words: washing, water, Wendy and window. *Procedure: -Look at the picture and listen. -Have Ss look at the picture and describe it. Draw Ss’ attention to the words next to the things, the girl, what she’s doing and the colour of the letter W/w.Check comprehension. -Point, listen and repeat. -Ask Ss to point to the letter W/w. Have them listen and repeat the sound of the letter W/w. -Tell Ss to point to Wendy and/or the word Wendy in the picture, to listen to the -Ss listen and repeat. recording and repeat the word Wendy. Ask them to listen to recording again and repeat the word individually and in chorusif necessary. -SS listen, point and repeat. -Follow the same procedure with the words washing, water and window. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task, if necessary. -SS say in front of the class. -Play the recording again and have them listen, point to the letter W/w, the picture and say the sound of the letter and the words until they feel confident. Correct the pronunciation, if necessary. -Call a few Ss to say the letter W/w and the words washing, water, Wendy and window in front of the class *Outcome: pronounce the sound of the letter W/w and remember and say some new words: washing, water, Wendy and window. Activity 3. Point and say:14’ *Aim: help Ss to practise pronouncing the sound of the letter W/w and remember and say some new words: washing, water, Wendy and window. *Procedure:
- - Have Ss look at the picture again.Ask -Look at the picture and them to describe it. Draw their attention discribe. to the letter W/w, the words washing, water, Wendy and window, if necessary. -Point and say -Get them to point to the letter W/w and say it aloud. -Let them point to Wendy and say Wendy, saying Point to Wendy, please. Remind them of the sound of the letter W in the word Wendy. Then ask one pupil to point to Wendy and to say the word Wendy in front of the class. Go around and offer -SS look and listen help, if necessary. -Follow the same procedure with the other things.
