  1. WEEK 19 Tuesday, January 10th 2023 Unit 4: In the bedroom Lesson 1 A. Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce the sound of the letter Dd in isolation and in the words door, dog, Dan, desk correctly. - Point to the letter Dd and the things in the picture; say the sound of the letter Dd; understand and say the sound of the words. 2. Skills. - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - To help Ss loving English. C. Teaching aids: CD, Phonics cards D. Procedure: I. Warm-up: Slap the board ca ha ba t t g ba ca ll r II. New lesson: Listen, point and repeat: - Introduction of letter Dd, its sound and how to pronounce the words with Dd. - Write on board the letter Dd to introduce to the students the new lesson. - Instruct students how to pronounce the letter and the sound by saying: “This is the letter D /di/. The letter D says /d/.” - Repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation - Use the phonics cards introduce door, dog, Dan, desk; read the words out loud and have students repeat. - Use pictures to help students to understand the meanings of the three words. - Stick the cards on board and have students repeat the words chorally several times III. Practice: 1. Look and match (Workbook): - Show the picture - Elicit name and things in the pictures - Get sts point and say name and things one by one - Call some sts point and say - Have sts match the words with right things in the pictures. - Go around to look and check sts’ work
  2. - Give feedback - Show the answer key * Key: 1. b; 2. c; 3. d; 4.a 2. Look and circle (Workbook): - Sts can understand the meaning of the words give by crcling the right pictures - Show the content of the exercise - Point to each pictures, have sts say the names and things themselves - Run through the 4 words given – Sts listen and repeat - Have sts look at the words given and circle the right pictures. - Get sts’ answer - Correct and comment * Key: 1. a; 2. b; 3. a; 4.b IV. Wrap-up: - Have sts point and say again 4 words - Give feedback. Friday, January 12th 2023 Unit 4: In the bedroom Lesson 2 A. Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Practice words with d sound in situation; - Practice using words with d sound in simple sentences by chanting - Practice listening d sound in the 4 words and words with sound. 2. Skills. - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - To help Ss loving English. C. Teaching aids: CD, Phonics cards D. Procedure: I. Warm-up: - Greet students. - Play game: Slap board - Raise the winner. - Have ss read these words. - Lead in new lesson. II. New lesson: 1. Point and say: - Show the pictures - Elicit name and names of things in the pictures: door, dog, Dan, desk
  3. - Get sts point and say name and things one by one - Call some sts point and say - Give feedback 2. Chant: - Show the chant on the board - Read through the sentences - Have listen and repeat the sentences - Play the tape a few times. - Ask them to listen again and repeat. - Have sts practice chanting in groups of 4 - Call some groups chant aloud - Give feedback 3. Listen and tick: - Elicit students the names of things in pairs in the pictures given - Give feedback - Have sts run through the names of things again - Present what they have to do in this part - Play the CD. Have the students listen and tick (twice) - Get sts’answers - Play the CD again. The students listen and check their answer - Give feedback * Key: 1. a; 2. b III. Projects (Workbook): Find and colour door, dog, Dan and desk - Show the picture on the screen - Ask sts to find where is door/dog/ Dan/ desk - Have sts listen to the things that teacher says and colour them one by one - Listen and colour the pictures - Go around to check the sts’ work - Give feedback IV. Wrap-up: - Recite the chant. - Have ss review these words.
