- WEEK 17 Tuesday, December 27th 2022 FUN TIME 2 Part 3, 4 A. Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Review sounds /b/ (letter b) and /k/ (letter c) - Review vcabulary: ball, bike, book, cake, car, cat, cup - Identify and read the learnt words. Make a short exchange, using the structures “Hi, I’m _____.” and “I have a _____.” 2. Skills. - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - To help Ss loving English. C. Teaching aids: CD, Phonics cards D. Procedure: I. Warm up: - Have Ss play slap the board game. - Have ss read the words. - Give comment. II. New lesson: 1. Read and tick. Then colour and say.13’ - Have them look at the pictures and ask them What can you see in the pictures? Have them point to each picture and say the word (e.g. a. a book, b. a car). Ask them to tick the correct picture. - Have them colour the correct picture, e.g. a book. Then have them say the words a book. - Follow the same procedure with questions 2, 3 and 4. Give further support to those Ss who find it difficult to do the task. - Get Ss to check their answers in pairs. Then ask some pairs to give their answers. Give comments and confirm the correct answers. 2. Let’s play: A happy circle. 14’ - Have Ss look at the picture and read the sentences. - Explain the rule of the game: A group of Ss make a circle. The teacher gives each pupil a card with a picture. Two Ss will play first. Pupil A greets, introduces his/her name and says what he/she has in the card by saying Hi, I’m .. I have a ... - Pupil B does the same as Pupil A. After that, pupil B points to any pupil in the circle and he/she does the same. The last pupil in the circle shouts out “Happy” when he/she finishes his/her turn. - Model the game with one pupil. - Have Ss play the game in groups of five or six. Support and give them help, when necessary. - Ask the whole class to play the game if the time allows. This time Ss can point to any pupil they like in class. III. Wrap-up: - Asking Ps to focus on sounds and vocabulary again. - Practice more at home.
- Friday, December 30th 2022 Unit 3: At the street market Lesson 1 A. Objective: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to: 1. Knowledge: - Pronounce the sound of the letter A/a in isolation and in the words hat, apple, can and bag correctly. - Point to the letter A/a and the things in the picture; say the sound of the letter A/a; understand and say the sound of the words hat, apple, can and bag. 2. Skills. - Listening, reading and speaking. 3. Attitude/ Quality: - Have concentration, listen carefully, express idea during lesson - To help Ss loving English. C. Teaching aids: CD, Phonics cards D. Procedure: I. Warm-up: Retell the letter B and C by filling the gaps _a; _ill; _at; _all; _ar; _ook; _ake; _up - Give pupils some flashcards (of a car, cup, cat, cake, book, bike, ) and let him/her talk about possession, e.g. I have a car. II. New lesson: 1. Listen and repeat: - Have pupils look at the picture and answer some questions such as Who are they? Where are they? And What are they doing? - Draw pupils’ attention to the words next to the things and the colour of the letter A/a. - Introduction of letter A, its sound and how to pronounce the words with Aa. - Write on board the letter Aa to introduce to the students the new lesson. - Instruct students how to pronounce the letter and the sound by saying: “This is the letter A /ei/. The letter A says /a/.” - Repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation - Use the phonics cards introduce hat, apple, Ann, bag; read the words out loud and have students repeat. - Use pictures to help students to understand the meanings of the three words. - Stick the cards on board and have students repeat the words chorally several times - Matching: Put pictures on the board and write words beside (not in order), call sts come to the board and match - Give feedback 2. Point and say: - Have pupils look at the picture again. Ask them to describe the picture. Draw their attention to the letter A/a and the things, if necessary. - Ask pupils to point to the apple and say the word apple as a model. Then ask one pupil to point to the apple and to say the word apple in front of the class. Correct pronunciation, if necessary. - Invite a few pupils to point to the picture and say the sound of the letter and the words in front of the class. III. Practice: 1. Look and match (Workbook):
- - Show the picture - Elicit name and things in the pictures - Get sts point and say name and things one by one - Call some sts point and say - Have sts match the words with right things in the pictures. - Go around to look and check sts’ work - Give feedback - Show the answer key * Key: 1. a; 2. b; 3. d; 4.c 2. Look and circle (Workbook): - Show the content of the exercise - Point to each pictures, have sts say the name and things themselves - Run through the 4 words given – Sts listen and repeat - Have sts look at the words given and circle the right pictures. - Get sts’ answer - Correct and comment * Key: 1. a; 2. a; 3. b; 4.b IV. Wrap-up: - Have sts point/ draw and say again 4 words - Give feedback
